  • Publication number: 20230209012
Abstract: A system for transmission of imaging metadata comprises a sensor configured to capture audiovisual data and a data transmission device. The data transmission device receives captured audiovisual data from the first sensor and receives metadata, wherein the metadata is metadata of a first type. The data transmission device generates a data structure corresponding to a first frame of a video feed, wherein the data structure is generated in accordance with a predefined data specification, wherein generating the data structure comprises setting an indicator in the data structure to indicate that a second type of metadata should not be read from a first field in the data structure and writing the first metadata to the first field in the data structure. The data transmission device transmits the data structure along with the captured audiovisual data.

  • Publication number: 20220317827
Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods for dynamically updating and rendering graphical user interfaces at a surgical hub device that is configured to simultaneously coordinate the operation of multiple medical devices connected to the hub. According to an aspect, when a device is connected to the hub, the device can send identifying information to the hub so that the hub can ascertain the identity of the device. Based on the identification data, the hub can access an internal graphical user interface (GUI) database to determine if there are any entries in the database that correspond to the device that is now connected to the hub. If it is determined that the internal GUI database of the hub contains one or more GUIs associated with the device, then the GUI database can transmit the corresponding to GUIs to the electronic display for rendering at the appropriate times.

  • Publication number: 20210267445
Abstract: An endoscopic system including an endoscope, a light source for the endoscope and at least one image sensor for capturing a plurality of images of a body cavity. The light source is configured to emit light from the endoscope and into the body cavity such that the light is reflected off of a plurality of locations in the body cavity. The system also includes a control system for controlling both the light source and the at least one image sensor to vary parameters of the light source and the at least one image sensor such that the plurality of images have underexposed and overexposed regions. The endoscopic system could alternatively include a variable-attenuator element device adjacent the image sensor and configured to be located between the body cavity and the image sensor for capturing a single clear image with the image sensor.
