Patent number: 11558504Abstract: A call challenger can receive a user input from a called party identity to opt-in to a call challenge service, and a second user input of a keyword. When the call challenger receives a call directed to a user equipment of the called party identity, the call challenger can prompt the calling party to provide an audible response. In response to a receipt of the audible response, the call challenger can convert the audible response to a text. The call challenger can compare the text with the keyword to determine if there is a sufficient match. In response to the determining the output of the comparing does not satisfy a threshold match score, the call challenger can prevent the call from connecting with the user equipment.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2021Date of Patent: January 17, 2023Assignees: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P., AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Sheldon Meredith, Brandon Hilliard, Zachary Meredith

Publication number: 20220173935Abstract: When an access point device is aware of an internet access failure, the access point device can attempt to re-route the baseband content through a different access point for the purpose of using its hard-wired internet connection. An administrative function can allow the access point device to tunnel through the internet service provider (ISP) of another access point device if permission is granted to do so. The permission can be granted beforehand or it can be granted to on the fly. Consequently, if the packets cannot route via the normal, hard-wired path, a message to a secondary transceiver of the access point device can instruct the access point device to find an alternate path via the ISP of the other access point device.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 16, 2022Publication date: June 2, 2022Inventors: Sheldon Meredith, Brandon Hilliard, Zachary Meredith

Patent number: 10873857Abstract: Dynamic wireless link security can be used to connect a wireless computing device to a wireless network. A determination is made as to the minimum level of security required and a wireless communication channel corresponding to that level of security is selected from among multiple, available wireless communication channels with varying levels of security. At least one of the wireless communication channels is an unencrypted channel with access control, which can be used when information is already encrypted or when encryption is not needed due to low sensitivity of the information. The determination can be made with user input or by inspecting metadata in content to be sent over the wireless link.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2018Date of Patent: December 22, 2020Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Sheldon Meredith, William Cottrill, Brandon Hilliard

Patent number: 10691745Abstract: An arrangement of physical objects can be analyzed using a captured digital image of the arrangement and a reference display file database. A processing device communicatively coupled to the reference display file database receives the captured image depicting the arrangement of physical objects and accesses a reference display file from the reference display file database. The reference display file includes multi-viewpoint image data and scoring components. The processing device identifies at least some of the physical objects using the reference display file. The processing device scores each identified object for such attributes as presence, position and orientation using the scoring components from the reference display file, producing an overall score based on the scoring of each identified object. The processing device can then transmit the overall score to other systems.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2018Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Sheldon Meredith, William C. Patent number: 10353078Abstract: A method includes receiving location data related to devices transmitted during a first interval. The location data includes at least two GPS points of a first device and a single GPS point of a second device. The method includes identifying a subset of the devices that are within a vicinity of an area associated with a traffic event based on the data. The method includes determining that the first device will not approach the area during a second interval based on the two GPS points and determining that the second device will not approach the geographic area during the second interval based at least on the single GPS data point and a second location datum. The method includes filtering the first and second devices from the subset and transmitting an alert indicative of the traffic event to the subset.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2017Date of Patent: July 16, 2019Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Sheldon Meredith, Brandon Hilliard, Rick Tipton

Patent number: 10154501Abstract: A more efficient network can be achieved using over the air (OTA) software updates for connected vehicles. Based on a connected vehicles batter power, OTA updates can be performed in accordance with base station devices while the base station devices are not at or near a capacity. Other factors that can determine when and where an OTA software push is performed can comprise vehicle speed, base station communication range, traffic density, etc. Analysis of historical route data for vehicles and historical capacity data for base station devices can also help facilitate determining a wireless network availability for connected vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2017Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Sheldon Meredith, William Cottrill, Brandon Hilliard

Patent number: 9103690Abstract: Aspects relate to automatically providing updated route and predicted travel time to allow a user to travel a shortest route between a first point and a second point. A route can be planned based on a multitude of route segments, wherein historical data related to speed is known for each of the route segments. Further, the historical data is categorized based on temporal aspects, such as time of day, day of week, as well as other aspects, such as known events that can have an influence on the speed at which each route segment can be traveled. As the user moves along the route, the planned route, as well as an anticipated travel time, are almost continually updated to provide the most up-to-date and accurate data.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2014Date of Patent: August 11, 2015Assignee: AT&T MOBILITY II LLCInventors: Mario Kosseifi, Brandon Hilliard, Sheldon Meredith, Mark Austin

Patent number: 9008698Abstract: The disclosed subject matter provides for employing timed fingerprint location information in location analytics. Timed fingerprint location information can provide a location for a user equipment. The location of the user equipment can be compared to a location analytics rule related to the location of a user equipment. Where the location satisfies a condition of the location analytics rule, the user equipment can be associated with a compliance status. Compliance, or noncompliance, can initiate further action. Further action can include reporting the compliance status, verifying the identity of a user associated with the user equipment, enforcing the location analytics rule, etc. Enforcing the location analytics rule can include alerts, fines, reporting to an authority figure or agency, etc.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2014Date of Patent: April 14, 2015Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Sheldon Meredith, Brandon Hilliard, Mario Kosseifi

Patent number: 8970432Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein can implement a femtocell calibration solution that uses the known location of the femtocell to calibrate timing based locating systems. The calculated time differences of different signals sent between macrocells and a mobile device can be used to solve for a reference time difference that accounts for the timing differences of the unsynchronized macrocells. The reference time difference can then be used to solve for the location of another mobile device if the calculated time differences between that mobile device and the macrocells are known. The solution can include taking many measurements of the calculated time difference at the first mobile device in order to average them to get a more accurate reference time difference. The solution can further include ceasing measurements at the first mobile device when the mobile device is no longer within range of the femtocell.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2011Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Jeremy Fix, Brandon Hilliard, Sheldon Meredith
