Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a media guidance application that controls user equipment devices by automatically issuing frequently-used sequences of user commands with a remote control device. For example, the media guidance application may determine that a user typically inputs a particular series of commands when they use a user equipment device at a certain time (e.g., navigating to a March Madness application during March). The media guidance application may then identify the user when he or she picks up the remote control and automatically, without user input, cause the remote control to issue the appropriate user command sequence. The media guidance application may also determine new or augmented sequences based on additional inputs received from the user. This may allow users to more easily navigate to and use their favorite services.
