    Abstract: A renal denervation system for lysing and denervating sympathetic renal nerves that is adapted and configured to approach the renal artery extravascularly via percutaneous access. The renal denervation system includes a catheter assembly that includes a delivery catheter and at least one catheter apparatus. The catheter apparatus includes a core member that is adapted and configured to (i) transition from a pre-deployment configuration to a post-deployment curved or coiled configuration when subjected to a pre-defined temperature, wherein the core member surrounds a renal artery and, thereby, renal nerves, (ii) deliver energy to the renal artery and, thereby, renal nerves to abate activity thereof, and (iii) deliver a neurolytic agent to the renal nerves of the renal artery.

    Abstract: A medical device for removal of an occlusion from a vessel in a patient’s body. The retrieval device having a retriever sub-system and an aspiration sub-system. The retriever sub-system having a delivery catheter and an elongated delivery member that includes proximal and distal expandable elements, the proximal element being removably engaged to the elongated delivery member and the distal element being fixed to the elongated delivery member. The proximal element adapted to move axially along the elongated delivery member in a distal direction toward the distal element when the proximal element is released from the elongated delivery member, whereby, when the proximal element is disposed on a distal side of the vessel occlusion and the distal element is disposed on a proximal side of the occlusion, the proximal and distal elements surround, isolate and contain the occlusion between the proximal and distal elements at the vessel occlusion site.

    Abstract: A retriever device for removal of unwanted material from a vessel in a patient's body comprising a retriever sub-system and an aspiration sub-system. The retriever sub-system comprising a delivery catheter and a delivery wire having first and second expandable bodies disposed thereon that are adapted to expand from a pre-expansion configuration to an expanded configuration. The second expandable body is further adapted to slidably translate along the delivery wire in a distal direction toward the first expandable body when the second expandable body is released from the delivery wire, whereby, when the first expandable body is disposed on a distal side of at least a first portion of the unwanted material in the vessel and the second expandable body is disposed on a proximal side of the first portion of the unwanted material, the first expandable body and the second expandable body surround and contain the first portion of the unwanted material between the first expandable body and the second expandable body.

    Abstract: The present invention provides improved artificial blood fluids and microflow drag reducing factors for use in such fluids as well as the restoration and/or enhancement of microcirculation and tissue oxygenation. In accordance with preferred embodiments, artificial blood fluids with synthetic or natural oxygen carrying compounds are improved through the inclusion of small amounts of blood soluble microflow drag reducing factors. Microflow drag reducing factors may be combined with physiologically acceptable carriers to form fluids for the restoration and/or enhancement of microcirculation and tissue oxygenation. Physiologically acceptable carriers are preferred as those having a polyethylene glycol adjuvant. The concentration of microflow drag reducing factor is from about 0.1 ppm to about 10,000 ppm by weight of the blood fluid. Certain embodiments feature the employment of certain third and fourth generation dendritic polymers to improve emulsification of artificial blood fluids.
