Abstract: To have a mechanism to reduce or avoid problems for lending/borrowing from/to family/friends, we have presented a system and method here, called StreetCred, or SC. This can be applied to money, cash, bitcoin, cryptocurrency, credit line, or the equivalents, as well as other objects, such as cars, jackets, and other personal items. The ratings and scores are based on social networks, e.g., based on reputation and reliability of a user. The score can supplement the FICO score or similar scores. It can help regular banks or credit cards, as well. The initial circle of family/friends can be extended later on, to a 3rd party, for any object/item. The reputation and reliability score is very universal and can help other areas of commerce or e-commerce, as well. It encourages and rewards good and on-time behavior and common-sense/courtesy between people/family/friends. Many examples and variations are presented here.
