Publication number: 20240076096Abstract: Disclosed is a display ready carton that can be converted from a shipping container to a display container without the use of tools in an efficient and reliable manner. The carton, and blanks for preparing the same, generally comprise a plurality of panels formed integrally from a sheet of material with one of the panels having a tear-out panel disposed thereon. To display the contents of the carton at retail, the tear-out panel is removed by tearing the carton along lines of weakness disposed substantially along one panel of the carton. The tear-out panel may be integrally connected to a flap for sealing the top or bottom portion of the carton and the flap may also be removed when removing the tear-out panel such that the carton contents are accessible from two faces.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2021Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventor: Brandon Mark Hokanson

Patent number: 11203460Abstract: A multi-carton container can be separated into a first carton and a second carton. The top wall of each of the first carton and the second carton can be at least partially connected to each other along a line of weakness. Side walls of each of the first carton and the second carton can also be at least partially connected to each other along lines of weakness.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2017Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Inventor: Brandon Mark Hokanson

Patent number: 11192681Abstract: Provided are cartons, particularly cartons for storing and dispensing consumer products and more particularly absorbent consumer products and still more particularly tissue products, such as rolled tissue products, which eliminates plastic packaging while still protecting the carton contents from dirt and grime. The carton contents are protected by providing a carton having a top panel formed from opposing flaps that overlap to some extent. The overlapped portion however, is designed to compress on center and not to add material height to the perimeter of the carton so that multiple cartons may be stacked one on top of another to form a stable unit load.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2019Date of Patent: December 7, 2021Assignee: KIMBERLY-CLARK WORLDWIDE, INC.Inventor: Brandon Mark Hokanson

Patent number: 11192680Abstract: The present invention provides an enclosed carton for storing and dispensing a plurality of consumer goods. The carton is reclosable and resealable using an interior tuck tab that is formed from one of the carton panels. The tab has a perimeter defined by a line of weakness for separating the interior tuck tab from the carton panel, a first fold line for hingedly connecting the interior tuck tab to the panel and a second fold line spaced apart from the first fold line; and a pair of notches disposed on the interior tuck tab substantially parallel to the second fold line.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2018Date of Patent: December 7, 2021Assignee: KIMBERLY-CLARK WORLDWIDE, INC.Inventors: Brandon Mark Hokanson, Sydney Leigh Kallenbach, Timothy Scott Burnham

Patent number: 10947029Abstract: Disclosed is a dispenser useful for storing and dispensing sheet material comprising a flexible outer wrapper, which may be formed from a single piece of plastic, defining an interior space for receiving the sheet material to be stored and dispensed. The outer wrapper has a top surface and a first opening disposed thereon. The dispenser further comprises a dispensing panel disposed between the stack of sheet material and the outer wrapper. The dispensing panel may be formed from a semi-rigid material, such as paperboard having a bending stiffness greater than about 200 Taber Stiffness Units so as to provide the dispenser with some structural integrity and facilitate dispensing of the sheet material.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2017Date of Patent: March 16, 2021Assignee: KIMBERLY-CLARK WORLDWIDE, INC.Inventor: Brandon Mark Hokanson

Patent number: 10611536Abstract: A bundle of a stack of at least two consumer products is disclosed. The stack has opposite front and back faces spaced apart in a depth dimension, opposite top and bottom faces spaced apart in a height dimension, and opposite first and second end faces spaced apart in a length dimension. The bundle has a dual-cap bundling member that has a first end-cap that cups the stack at the first end-face, a second end-cap that cups the stack at the second end-face, and a bridge that integrally connects the first and second end-caps and that is superposed over the top face. The dual-cap bundling member is formed from a rigid substrate. The first end-cap and the second end-cap are not connected to each other via the rigid substrate other than by the bridge.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2017Date of Patent: April 7, 2020Assignee: KIMBERLY-CLARK WORLDWIDE, INC.Inventor: Brandon Mark Hokanson

Patent number: 10583974Abstract: A unitary package including a rolled tissue product and a packaged tissue product overwrapped with a packaging film. The packaged tissue product may be disposed in a folded over portion of a divider and co-packed with first and second rolled tissue products, which differ in at least one regard, to increase the stability of the package. The rolled tissue products preferably comprise a plurality of rolled towel products having a first height and a plurality of rolled bath tissue products having a second height, where the first height is greater than the second height. The divider, packaged tissue product and first and second rolled tissue products are generally packaged together to form a cubic package.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2018Date of Patent: March 10, 2020Assignee: KIMBERLY-CLARK WORLDWIDE, INC.Inventors: Brandon Mark Hokanson, Jason John Schumaker

Publication number: 20190233156Abstract: The present disclosure provides a novel blank for producing cartons, particularly cartons useful for storing and dispensing sheets of tissue, having a novel shape. The cartons have at least one corner edge that is partially formed from an edge wall having a convex cross-sectional shape. In certain instances the carton has four corners and each of the edges is at least partially formed from an edge wall having a convex cross-sectional shape. By providing a carton having one or more convex shaped corner edges not only is a disinvite carton created, but the additional wall forming the convex edge may be provided with graphics that differ from the other carton walls to further enhance the cartons distinctive appearance.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2018Publication date: August 1, 2019Inventors: Jason John Schumaker, Gretchen Sarah Koch, Brandon Mark Hokanson
