Abstract: A wrist brace includes a sleeve with a primary layer formed of elastic material that applies a first level of compression, and extends beyond the wrist onto the hand of the wearer, and onto at least a portion of the forearm of the wearer. A first opening and pocket in the sleeve receive a first correspondingly sized/shaped thermal pack, having a width formed to overlie the tendons of the third, fourth, and fifth compartments when the brace is worn. A second opening and second pocket in the sleeve receive a second correspondingly sized/shaped thermal pack having a width formed to overlie the tendons of the first and second compartments when the brace is worn. The sleeve has a particularly shaped layer(s) of high compression material that overlies and applies a second, higher level of compression to the thermal packs contained in the first and second pockets, and seals the openings.

Abstract: A knee brace includes an elastic material having: a first portion with first and second ends fixedly secured together forming a sleeve to encircle a leg below the knee, applying compression thereto, and second portion with first and second ends spaced apart forming first and second flaps that wrap around the wearer's leg above the knee, with the first flap overlapping onto and releasably securing to the second flap using hook and loop materials, to apply compression thereto. A secondary flap is fixedly secured to the upper portion, with its free end releasably secured to the second flap using hook or loop materials, to apply compression thereto. The first flap is angled upwardly and the secondary flap is angled downwardly for respective securement to the second flap. These redundant securements at the divergent angles better maintains the brace at the proper positioning on the wearer's leg.

Abstract: An adjustable pillow includes: upper and lower layers of foam, and first and second end caps of foam joined together and form a cavity. A plurality of individually inflatable bladders are positioned in the cavity of foam, and each has the same size and shape. A respective tube is in fluid communication with each of the plurality of individually inflatable bladders and with a pump that is configured to inflate any one or more of the plurality of individually inflatable bladders sequentially to a particular pressure, to inflate the adjustable pillow to a desired height selected by a user. A processor, electronic circuitry, and one or more voice activated microphones coupled to the processor and electronic circuitry receive and detect snoring sounds made by a user, with the processor configured to actuate one valves and/or pump to adjust the inflation until the detected snoring sounds falls below a threshold level.

Abstract: A portable case is particularly configured to store compression garments, and heat and cold packs to maintain respective elevated and reduced temperatures of the heat and cold packs when stored therein. The case includes a first shell coupled to a second shell to pivot between open and closed positions. A zipper releasably secures the two shells together in the closed position. A first thermal insulating material lines the interior of the first shell. A periphery of a second thermal insulating material is fixedly secured to the interior of the first shell a distance away from its full depth forming an insulated compartment. A third thermal insulating material subdivides the compartment into a first insulated sub-compartment for storing heat packs, and a second insulated sub-compartment for simultaneously storing cold packs in a compact arrangement. First and second zippers respectively provide access into the first and second insulated sub-compartment.

Abstract: An ankle brace includes a wrap, lateral and medial stays, and first and second strap portions (e.g., a single unitary strap) secured to the wrap. A first wrap portion envelops the foot, and a second wrap portion envelops a portion of the lower leg. The lateral and medial stays have question-mark-shaped peripheries, and extend along portions of the lower leg, the ankle, and lateral and medial portions of the foot, respectively. The first and second strap portions wrap around a top of the foot in first and second directions, respectively, around the back of the leg, and releasably secure to lateral and medial sides of the wrap. Each stay overlaid by the first and second strap portions at three locations to redundantly secure each stay to the wrap. The lateral and medial stays may be contoured according to the lateral and medial sides of the foot, ankle, and lower leg.

Abstract: A posture support garment includes: a shirt, shoulder band, and waist band. The shirt envelops the wearer's torso and shoulders, and is an elastic material configured to apply a first level of compression. The shoulder band is fixedly secured to the shirt to encircle the left and right shoulders of the shirt and crisscross at a back region, and is made of a first compression material configured to apply a second level of compression. The waist band is formed with a first portion that extends around the back of the wearer's waist and is made of the first compression material to apply the second level of compression, and a second portion that extends around the front of the wearer's waist, and is made of a second compression material configured to apply a third level of compression, where the third level of compression is less than the second level of compression.

Abstract: A knee brace includes: an elastic sleeve, and first and second cinching straps. The sleeve includes: a first portion that encircles the leg of the wearer on a first side of the knee joint in proximity to the calf; and a second portion that encircles the leg of the wearer on a second side of the knee joint in proximity to the thigh region. The first and second cinching straps have first ends that are fixedly secured to a first side of the second portion of the elastic sleeve, and to a second side of the second portion of the elastic sleeve, respectively. The first and second cinching straps have a length to permit wrapping around the elastic sleeve at least one full circumferential loop in opposite directions. Flaps of material may be secured to the elastic sleeve to create sockets that receive arms of first and second polycentric hinges.

Abstract: An orthotic device restrains a portion of the movement of a wearer's limb about a joint to train the wearer's muscles to be so limited after the device is no longer worn, preventing hyperextension. The device includes: a first and second tubular portions, and at least one resistance band. The first and second tubular portions encircle respective portions of the limb on opposite sides of a joint, and apply compression. The tubular portions are formed of elastic material, and are joined together to orient an axis of the second tubular portion at an angle to an axis of the first tubular portion, when undeformed. The first and second ends of the resistance member(s) are fixedly secured to selective positions on the first and second tubular portions, respectively, and has a length configured to bias only a portion of the range of movement of the limb away from full extension.

Abstract: A back brace includes first and second flexible belt members; a back plate, means for securing the back plate to the belt members, and a height adjustment member. The back plate is contoured on one side to support a first portion of a wearer's back, and has pairs of openings spaced apart in a vertical direction. The height adjustment member is contoured on one side to support a second portion of the wearer's back, and has a plurality of pairs of protrusions configured to releasably couple to a corresponding plurality of the pairs of openings in the back plate at each of a plurality of different height-adjusted positions. The height adjustment member may have four protrusions that engage two pairs of the plurality of series of pairs of openings in the back plate, to provide greater support and stability to the height adjustment member.

Abstract: A knee brace includes: an elastic sleeve; first and second stiffening members coupled together to crisscross to form an X-shape, and secured to a medial side of the sleeve; third and fourth stiffening members similarly coupled together and secured to a lateral side of the sleeve; and a plurality of slits in the sleeve into a corresponding pockets that receive a thermal pack. The thermal packs and pockets are triangular shaped, with two triangular-shaped pockets on the medial side of the sleeve, and two on the lateral side, each disposed in a respective triangular shape positioned between the x-shape of the stiffening members. The pairs of stiffening members are either: fixedly coupled together to store energy when the user bends at the knee, and to expend the stored energy to assist in lifting the user upward; or pivotally coupled together to pivot according to movements of the wearer's knee joint.

A first pocket in the sleeve overlies an area to be treated, and receives a corresponding thermal pack (i.e., a heat pack or cold pack). At least a second pocket is formed as a curved pocket to encircle a portion of the body part, to overlie at least a portion of the body part, and also receives a thermal pack. Alternatively, second and third pockets may both be formed in the sleeve to receive thermal packs that respectively. High compression material reinforces the ends and overlies each of the pockets, while encircling portions of the body part.

Abstract: A knee brace includes a first portion for securement to the thigh region, a second portion for securement to the calf region, and pivotal coupling of the upper region to the lower region. A special pad is used for contacting each region of the leg, which pad is received in a shell that includes a plurality of ventilation openings, and which pad includes a plurality of thru-openings interconnected with the ventilation openings in the shell, and grooves that interconnect the plurality of openings in the pad. The openings and grooves in the pad serve to better grip the wearer's leg and reduce the tensioning needed by the straps to maintain the brace in position. The upper cuff and/or lower cuff may be adjustably secured to the arms of the hinge using T-shaped mounting studs that mate with a corresponding cruciform-shaped opening in the hinge arms.

The layer(s) of higher compression material(s) on the interior surface of the primary layer overlay and extend beyond the treatment region(s), applying a second, higher level of compression. The primary layer has an opening adjacent to the higher compression material(s). A first peripheral portion of the liner is secured to the interior of the primary layer and extends over the opening, with a second peripheral portion extending over only a portion of a periphery of the higher compression material(s), being secured thereto to form a gonfalon-shaped pocket that receives a correspondingly shaped heat/cold pack.

Abstract: A dive mask provides underwater images and includes: a transparent lens; a frame; a strap arrangement; a water-proof housing; a camera; and batteries. A first portion of the frame receives the transparent lens, and a second portion mounts to a wearer's face. The strap arrangement secures the frame to the wearer's head. The water-proof housing is secured within the frame, with a least a portion thereof being sealed against a portion of the transparent lens. The camera is positioned within the water proof enclosure, and include a shutter button that may be depressed to capture still images or video recordings. The batteries are positioned in the water-proof housing and power the camera. A water proof port permits recharging of the batteries. A waterproof pouch with a re-sealable waterproof closure is releasably secured to one strap using a lanyard, and stores the user's personal belongings while diving.

Abstract: A sling includes a strap assembly, and arm support cushion that includes: an inflatable bladder, valve, and hand-squeezable pump. The bladder has first and second surfaces corresponding to contours of the wearer's torso and arm, respectively. The valve permits air flow into or out from the bladder. The resilient bulb-shaped pump is squeezed to inflate the bladder, through the valve being in fluid communication with a hose, providing greater reach of the hand pump for each of the wearer's left/right hands. Alternatively, the bladder has first and second valves positioned on first and second sides of the bladder permitting left/right-handed use of the pump. The bladder's interior includes high-inflation foam to suck air therein to increase a rate of inflation of the bladder from a deflated condition. Decoupling of the resilient pump permits repetitive squeezing as exercise by the user. and/or blowing of air onto the wearer's arm.
