Patent number: 11788809Abstract: An apparatus for loading cartridges into a magazine comprises a setting mechanism including a sleeve, a body, a setting tool, and a link. The body may be slidingly disposed about the sleeve so that the body and the sleeve can slide relative to one another along a sliding axis. The body may translate between an upper position and a lower position along the sliding axis. A first end of the setting tool may be pivotally coupled to the sleeve for relative rotation between the setting tool and the sleeve about a forward axis. The setting tool rotates about the forward axis as the body translates between the upper position and the lower position.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2019Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: Vista Outdoor Operations LLCInventors: Brandon Thomas Hefer, Brandon Karl Trostrud, Sean Higgs

Patent number: 10533817Abstract: A magazine loader for loading cartridges into a magazine includes a base and a housing supported by the base. The base and the housing support a bowl for receiving a plurality of cartridges. A wheel is disposed inside the bowl cavity defined by the bowl. Cartridges are circulated in the bowl upon rotation of the wheel and exit the bowl via an aperture while the cartridges are assuming either a first orientation or a second orientation. A series of cartridges having random orientations are fed to a sorter of the magazine loader. The sorter is operable to receive a first cartridge and rotate the first cartridge clockwise 90 degrees if the random directional orientation of the first cartridge is the first directional orientation and/or rotate the first cartridge counterclockwise 90 degrees if the random directional orientation of the first cartridge is the second directional orientation.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2018Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: Vista Outdoor Operations LLCInventors: Brandon Thomas Hefer, Brandon Karl Trostrud

Patent number: 10386161Abstract: A target system has a splatter pack attached to a target panel. The splatter pack acts as a receptacle for a fluid that provides visual confirmation that the target has been hit as the pack bursts upon impact by a projectile. The splatter pack is formed by an array of chambers that are arranged in a staggered pattern. As the pack bursts, the fluid explodes out and leaves a splatter pattern on or about the target panel. The burst and residual splatter allow the marksman to see whether or not an accurate shot was delivered without having to closely examine the target. The splatter pack is removably secured to the target panel by one or more fasteners. Each one of the chambers in the interior portion of the splatter pack are intersected by at least one of the channels that are formed between adjacent chambers.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2018Date of Patent: August 20, 2019Assignee: Stiumph Systems, Inc.Inventors: Justin Taylor Snell, Kenneth William Harris, Aaron Paul Brookhart, Eric Maniquis Sia, Jared Wallace Ogden, II, Brandon Thomas Hefer

Patent number: 10295315Abstract: A target system designed to be stand-alone and modular which includes a target area which is two or more sided and which can be rotated through a large number of different positions and rotations. The system can also include systems for projectile impact recognition. Target rotation is generally accomplished through a target base that is in communication with and configured to receive data input from a remote target controller.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2017Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: Triumph Systems, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth William Harris, Justin Taylor Snell, Brandon Thomas Hefer, Aaron Paul Brookhart
