    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a first communication device that maps a set of MIMO layers (M1, . . . , ML) into two or more subsets of MIMO layers (S1, . . . , SG)based on a modulation for each MIMO layer (Ml) and selects a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for the set of MIMO layers (M1, . . . , ML) based on a code rate RC for a code word C and/or a modulation for a subset of MIMO layers (Sg). Further, the first communication device transmits the code word C on the set of MIMO layers (M1, . . . , ML) to a second communication device based on the selected MCS and transmits control information indicating the selected MCS and a result of the mapping of the set of MIMO layers (M1, . . . , ML) to the second communication device. The first communication device can thereby provide better protection of the systematic bits of the code word.

Upon reception of the communication signal, the second communication device deinterleaves the set of interleaved DFT precoded symbols of the communication signal based on an inverse permutation polynomial.

    Abstract: Devices, methods and computer readable medium for two-part feedback information transmission in wireless communications are provided. The two-part feedback information transmission is adopted, e.g., for improved downlink multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) precoding in time-division duplex (TDD)-based communication systems. The feedback information transmission allows compensating for adverse effects of incomplete UL-DL reciprocity for DL MIMO precoding caused by mismatched DL and UL channel measurements. The feedback information transmission being two-part allows low overhead for the feedback information.

    Abstract: A first communication device determines a DMRS sequence based on a cover code in a set of cover codes; and thereafter determines a DMRS by mapping the DMRS sequence onto one or more PRBs. The cover code is dependent on a DMRS antenna port index, and cover codes in the set of cover codes are orthogonal to each other in each PRB, and wherein a maximum correlation power between two cover codes in the set of cover codes is larger than 0 in each half PRB. Finally, the first communication device transmits the DMRS via a DMRS antenna port having DMRS antenna port index to a second communication device which receive the DMRS and associated data signal. The second communication device demodulates the associated data signal based on the received DMRS and the DMRS sequence.

    Abstract: Devices, methods and non-transitory computer-readable medium for adaptively selective retransmissions in wireless communications are disclosed. The present application allows enhancing short packet data retransmission performance under short delay constraints. Using a retransmission indication for at least one segment of consecutive forward error correction (FEC) encoded bits reduces feedback signaling overhead compared to signaling retransmission requests individually for each of the coded bits. Accordingly, active hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmissions with low amounts of feedback information are enabled.

The modulation sequence for the random access preamble is based on a first sequence and a second sequence. The first sequence is a sequence from a set of near-orthogonal sequences and the second sequence is a sequence from a set of constant envelope sequences. Due to its construction, the random access preamble herein provides low PAPR and suppresses the side-lobes in its auto-correlation function while producing a set of preambles with low cross-correlation. Furthermore, the invention also relates to corresponding methods and a computer program.

    Abstract: A codeword bit interleaving scheme for multilayer transmissions in a wireless communication system. The codeword bit interleaving scheme involves dividing columns of an interleaving matrix into at least two disjoint column groups based on transmission qualities (e.g., SNRs) of data transmission layers (e.g., MIMO layers). The column groups are then filled with codeword bits, starting with writing information bits into the column group(s) corresponding to the high-quality data transmission layers. After that, the column groups are all merged to restore the initial column arrangement of the interleaving matrix, and the codeword bits are read from the interleaving matrix row-wise and mapped to modulation symbols. The modulation symbols are in turn mapped to the data transmission layers themselves.
