  • Publication number: 20230396935
Abstract: A processing system determines, based on a set of input datapoints, a current state of charge (SOC) of a battery of a hearing instrument. Additionally, the processing system determines a predicted agenda of the hearing instrument, the predicted agenda comprising one or more future time segments. The processing system estimates, based on the current state of charge and the predicted agenda of the hearing instrument, an amount of time remaining until the future SOC of the battery of the hearing instrument reaches a threshold.

  • Publication number: 20230396941
Abstract: One or more processing circuits may obtain context information associated with a user of one or more hearing instruments, wherein the context information is based on a first set of sensor data generated by a plurality of sensors of the one or more hearing instruments and a second set of sensor data generated by a plurality of sensors of a computing device communicatively coupled to the one or more hearing instruments. The one or more processing circuits may determine, based on at least a portion of the context information, an auditory intent of the user for a given auditory context. The one or more processing circuits may associate the auditory intent with one or more actions, such as actions to adjust one or more settings of the one or more hearing instruments. The one or more processing circuits may invoke the one or more actions associated with the auditory intent.

  • Publication number: 20220408199
Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device includes one or more processors configured to detect presence of first and second hearing devices in a charging case, and to initiate a self-check protocol by at least one of the first and second hearing devices. The self-check protocol comprises wirelessly coupling the first and second hearing devices, selectively activating at least one electronic component of the first hearing device, and assessing performance of the second hearing device using an output or a response of the at least one electronic component of the first hearing device. The self-check protocol also comprises selectively activating at least one electronic component of the second hearing device, assessing performance of the first hearing device using an output or a response of the at least one electronic component of the second device, and storing results of the performance assessment in a memory.

  • Publication number: 20220279290
Abstract: An ear-worn electronic device comprises a microphone configured to sense sound in an acoustic environment, an acoustic transducer, and a non-volatile memory configured to store a plurality of parameter value sets, each of the parameter value sets associated with a different acoustic environment. A control input is configured to receive a control input signal produced by at least one of a user-actuatable control of the ear-worn electronic device and an external electronic device communicatively coupled to the ear-worn electronic device in response to a user action. A processor is configured to classify the acoustic environment using the sensed sound and determine a listening intent preference of the user. The processor is configured to apply, in response to the control input signal, one of the parameter value sets appropriate for the classification and the listening intent preference of the user.

  • Patent number: 10666067
Abstract: First and second hearing assistance devices each comprise a rechargeable power source and power management circuitry configured to control charging of the power sources. A portable charging unit comprises an interface configured to receive a connector of a power cable or a power and data cable, a rechargeable power source coupled to the interface, first and second charge ports configured to receive the first and second hearing assistance devices, and charging circuitry coupled to the first and second charge ports and to the rechargeable power source of the charging unit. The power management circuitry and the charging circuitry cooperate to partially charge the power sources of the hearing assistance devices at an accelerated charge rate above 1.0C when a state of charge (SoC) of the power sources is within a predetermined SoC range.
