  • Publication number: 20240365219
Abstract: A device, system and method for facilitating multi-level stream-based edge analytics in multi-modal communication. The device generates at least one primary data stream and secondary data stream by processing a plurality of data streams received from one or more data sources based on type of a multimodal application. Further, the device determines bandwidth requirements for transmission of the primary data stream and secondary data stream. The device then selects one or more network interfaces from a plurality of network interfaces to transmit at least one primary data stream based on traffic characteristics of the plurality of network interfaces and the bandwidth requirements. The device then transmits the primary data stream to an edge analytic server for edge analytics via the selected one or more network interfaces.

  • Publication number: 20240224046
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method to protect clear text transmission of user identity in wireless networks. The method includes sending a registration request to a Home Network (HN) to start an authentication process of a User Equipment (UE). In addition, the method includes receiving a subscription concealed identifier (SUCI) at the server network (SN). Further, the method includes generating a Subscription permanent identifier (SUPI) and a privacy key. The Subscription permanent identifier (SUPI) is de-concealed from the subscription concealed identifier (SUCI). Furthermore, the method includes generating and mapping, a virtual Subscription permanent identifier (SUPI) corresponding to the received Subscription permanent identifier (SUPI). Also, the method includes generating and sending, an authentication vector (AV) to the server network (SN). The response message includes the virtual Subscription permanent identifier (SUPI).

  • Publication number: 20240223600
Abstract: An apparatus and lightweight method detects and prevents DDoS attacks in a 5G-IoT slice in real-time without putting the stress of security on the constrained IoT devices. The apparatus includes eight IoT devices, a gNB, and 5G core network. The core network includes of AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, UDR, and Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF). 5 IoT devices connected to an IoT slice via a gNB RAN and core network are loaded with DDoS code. The gNB gives the RAN part of the slice to the IoT devices while as core network functions provide the core network part of the slice. A real-time and lightweight method consisting of Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and honeypots is designed for DDoS attack detection in 5G IoT/mMTC slices. The system identifies the attack efficiently and is able to mitigate it with less computation and storage costs.

  • Patent number: 9813731
Abstract: A video compression framework based on parametric object and background compression is proposed. At the encoder, an embodiment detects objects and segments frames into regions corresponding to the foreground object and the background. The object and the background are individually encoded using separate parametric coding techniques. While the object is encoded using the projection of coefficients to the orthonormal basis of the learnt subspace (used for appearance based object tracking), the background is characterized using an auto-regressive (AR) process model. An advantage of the proposed schemes is that the decoder structure allows for simultaneous reconstruction of object and background, thus making it amenable to the new multi-thread/multi-processor architectures.
