Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining information about an object are provided. An image of an object is acquired, dimensional information about the object are estimated based on the image data, and weight information is determined about the object using the estimated dimensional information. The image may be displayed with the object dimensional information and/or with the object weight information. The image may be stored and/or shared with the object dimensional and weight information. In addition, other information may be entered by a user and stored and/or shared with the image. A medical condition of a person may be determined by acquiring an image of the person, estimating height and weight information for the person based on image data, and determining a medical condition using the estimated height and weight information.

Abstract: A promotional writing instrument includes an elongated barrel having a writing end and first and second longitudinally adjacent transparent chambers. Translucent fluid substantially fills the first and second chambers, and a first object is disposed within the first chamber and a second object is disposed within the second chamber. Movement of the first and second objects is viewable through the transparent first and second chambers. A portion of the barrel between the first and second chambers is substantially non-transparent and blocks from view adjacent respective portions of the first and second chambers. When the first object moves downwardly through the fluid in the first chamber, the first object disappears behind the barrel non-transparent portion substantially at the same time as the second object appears from behind the barrel non-transparent portion as the second object moves downwardly through the fluid in the second chamber.

Abstract: A business card holder having the shape of a lady's high heel shoe includes a rigid, elongated sole having a rigid toe portion, a rigid inclined heel portion, and a rigid intermediate portion between the toe portion and inclined heel portion. A rigid heel extends downwardly from the inclined heel portion and supports the inclined heel portion when the business card holder is in an operative position. A rigid shoe upper extends over the toe portion and includes a free edge portion. The shoe upper free edge portion, sole intermediate portion, and inclined heel portion define a pocket that is configured to hold a plurality of business cards for distribution therefrom.

Abstract: A desk organizer having the shape of a lady's high heel shoe includes one or more portions configured to retain office supplies therein, such as paper clips, notepads and writing instruments. The desk organizer is unsuitable for wear as a shoe by a person and includes an elongated sole portion having a toe portion, an inclined heel portion, and an intermediate portion between the toe portion and inclined heel portion. A heel extends downwardly from the inclined heel portion and supports the inclined heel portion. A portion of the heel is hollow and defines a chamber therein that terminates at an opening in the inclined heel portion. The chamber is configured to retain one or more writing instruments disposed therein. The toe portion is configured to retain a plurality of paper clips disposed therein, and the intermediate portion is configured to retain a notepad disposed thereon.

Abstract: An envelope holder having the shape of a lady's high heel shoe includes an elongated sole having a forward toe portion and a raised heel portion. A heel extends downwardly from the heel portion and supports the heel portion when the envelope holder is in an operative position. A plurality of spaced apart rigid retaining members extend upwardly from the toe portion and are configured to retain envelopes placed therebetween. When the envelope holder is in an operative position, the toe portion is configured to lie substantially flat on a surface.

Abstract: A promotional writing instrument includes elongated first and second barrel portions. The second barrel portion is transparent and hollow and includes an open end and an opposite closed end. A fluid is disposed within the hollow second barrel portion and is viewable through the transparent second barrel portion. A plug seals the second barrel portion such that the fluid is prevented from escaping from the hollow second barrel portion. The plug is configured so as not to contact the inside surface of the first barrel portion even under flexure of the first and second barrel portions.

Abstract: A display and dispenser device for piece goods, particularly candy and dried foodstuffs such as peas or beans. The device includes a number of containers for the goods, each having an enclosing container wall including a transparent front wall provided with an access opening and a movable door closing the opening. The containers are arranged around a generally horizontal axis to form a display unit. The device also includes a support for the display unit permitting rotation of the unit about the central axis. An arrangement is also provided to prevent opening of the doors on each of the containers, except for the doors on one or more containers in predetermined dispensing station around the axis. The contents of the containers are visible to the customer and display unit can be rotated about the axis to position a desired container in the dispensing station where the container door can be opened and the contents removed.
