  • Publication number: 20230355270
Abstract: A cannula for providing a pathway for surgical instruments in a minimally invasive procedure having a flexible body portion having a flexible flange extending radially outwardly from the distal region of the flexible body portion. A first seal is positioned within the body portion to prevent egress of fluids from the body of the patient. A rigid ring is positioned at the distal region of the body portion, the ring having an opening dimensioned to receive at least a distal portion of an obturator tip therethrough and a surface surrounding the opening in the ring onto which at least a portion of the obturator contacts to prevent further passage of the obturator.

  • Publication number: 20230048693
Abstract: A cannula for providing a pathway for surgical instruments in a minimally invasive procedure including a flexible body portion having a lumen extending from the proximal region to the distal region, a proximal opening, a distal opening and a flange extending radially outwardly from the distal region and being flexible for insertion through an incision in a body of a patient. A rigid body portion extends proximally of the flexible body portion which is more flexible than the rigid body portion. A first seal is positioned within the rigid body portion and spaced proximally of a region of the flexible body portion distal of the rigid body portion, the seal preventing egress of fluids from the body of the patient.

  • Patent number: 11529135
Abstract: A bone anchor delivery system device (10) has a retractable punch driver assembly and a locking mechanism (32). The punch driver assembly has a retractable punch shaft (30) and a guide (20) for receiving the retractable punch shaft (30). The guide (20) is rotatable relative to the punch shaft (30) and the shaft has an extended length with bone penetrating tip (35) at a first end (33). The locking mechanism (32) for locking the retractable punch shaft (30) from linear movement and rotational movement relative to the guide (20) is positioned at an opposite second end. The retractable punch shaft (30) has a reduced diameter end (33) extending from the tip (35) toward a shoulder stop for receiving a releasable punch (12). The releasable punch (12) has a hollow opening for receiving the reduced diameter end (33) of the punch shaft (30). The punch (12) is profiled to pierce and form a bone anchor hole.

  • Publication number: 20210100545
Abstract: A suture anchor has a cylindrical body and an integral entry tip. The entry tip is at a distal end and the cylindrical body has a hollow proximal end portion and projections formed on an external surface of the body for retaining the anchor in a pre-drilled hole formed in bone. Two suture openings are formed extending through the body to opposed sides of the cylindrical body between the proximal end of the body and the entry tip at the distal end. Each opening is connected by slots or recesses of the body. A suture entering the hollow proximal end portion passing out through a first opening extends externally along a slot and enters a second opening extending out the second opening on an opposite side extending along an opposing slot and reentering the opposite side first opening and extending back out the hollow proximal end portion.
