Publication number: 20190220647Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a fingerprint sensor displays a fingerprint enrollment interface and detects, on the fingerprint sensor, a plurality of finger gestures performed with a finger. The device collects fingerprint information from the plurality of finger gestures performed with the finger. After collecting the fingerprint information, the device determines whether the collected fingerprint information is sufficient to enroll a fingerprint of the finger. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device enrolls the fingerprint of the finger with the device. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is not sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device displays a message in the fingerprint enrollment interface prompting a user to perform one or more additional finger gestures on the fingerprint sensor with the finger.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2019Publication date: July 18, 2019Inventors: Byron HAN, Matthew E. SHEPHERD, Imran CHAUDHRI, Gregory N. CHRISTIE, Patrick L. COFFMAN, Craig M. FEDERIGHI, Matthew H. GAMBLE, Brittany D. PAINE, Brendan J. LANGOULANT, Craig A. MARCINIAK, Donald W. PITSCHEL, Daniel O. Publication number: 20190158727Abstract: An electronic device displays an image in a sequence of images. The sequence of images includes a representative image and images acquired by the camera before and after acquiring the representative image. While displaying the image, the device detects a first input and, in response, displays a user interface for trimming the sequence of images. The user interface includes: representations of images in the sequence of images; a begin-trim icon that delimits a beginning image in the subset of the sequence of images; and an end-trim icon that delimits an ending image in the subset of the sequence of images. The begin-trim and end-trim icons are located at positions that are automatically selected by the device. The device detects a second input and, in response, trims the sequence of images to the subset of the sequence of images based on the positions of the begin-trim and the end-trim icons.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2019Publication date: May 23, 2019Inventors: Henrique D. Penha, Graham R. Clarke, Brendan J. Langoulant, Pavel Pivonka

Publication number: 20180364872Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to retrieving and displaying contextually-relevant media content. In some embodiments, a device receives a request to display contextually-relevant media and, in response, displays a representation of a collection of media items relevant to a context of the device. In some embodiments, a device displays a visual media item of a sequence of items and, in response to receiving a swipe gesture, displays a detail user interface comprising related content for the media item. In some embodiments, a device, while displaying a first detail user interface, displays an affordance corresponding to a plurality of individuals identified as having attended a first event, that when selected, causes display of visual media corresponding to a plurality of events attended by the individuals. In some embodiments, a device, in response to user input, obtains an automatically-generated collection of visual media and displays a corresponding affordance.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2018Publication date: December 20, 2018Inventors: Britt S. Patent number: 9706127Abstract: An electronic device that includes a touch-sensitive surface stores a plurality of sequences of images. The device displays a first representative image for a first sequence of images in a movable first area on a display. The device detects a gesture on the touch-sensitive surface, the gesture including movement by a contact that corresponds to movement in a first direction on the display. In response to detecting the gesture on the touch-sensitive surface: the device moves the first area in the first direction on the display; moves a movable second area in the first direction on the display; and, in accordance with a determination that sequence-display criteria are met, displays, in chronological order in the second area, at least some images for a second sequence of images acquired by the camera before acquiring a second representative image for the second sequence of images.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2015Date of Patent: July 11, 2017Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Henrique D. Patent number: 9600689Abstract: Systems and method for allowing an identifier value associated with a computing device, and that is delivered to content providers when requesting content, to be altered from that of the unique identifier value associated with the computing device. A computing device will include user interface elements that allow a user to request a new identifier on-demand. In some cases, the user can also configure the computing device to obtain a new identifier value in response to other actions at the computing device or automatically when some type of usage criteria is met. The identifier value is configured to be substantially unique and to be different than a unique identifier associated with the computing device to provide anonymity for the user.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2013Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Erik C. Neuenschwander, André M. J. Boulé, Brendan J. Langoulant, David Robert Stites, Tyler Dagan McRae Hawkins

Patent number: 9524568Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method that displays a document that includes several glyphs on a touch screen display. The method receives a touch input on the touch screen display to activate a zoom tool enabling location of a position indicator within a set of associated glyphs. The method automatically divides a touch screen region for the set of associated glyphs into sub-regions. Each sub-region is associated with a position indicator location between two subsequent glyphs. A first sub-region associated with a location between first and second glyphs has a same width as a second sub-region associated with a location between the second glyph and a third glyph. The first and third glyphs do not have an equal width. The method correlates movement of the touch input across the touch screen display with the equally-spaced sub-regions in order to move the position indicator between the glyphs in the associated set.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2013Date of Patent: December 20, 2016Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Brendan J. Patent number: 9239606Abstract: In one embodiment described herein, a device having an account permitting access to network-based storage, receives a push notification indicating that one or more assets has been shared by another person. In response to the push notification, the device begins downloading the new asset to the device, while starting two timers. When the first timer finishes, the user is notified about the new asset that is available. When the second timer finishes, the download, if still in progress, is interrupted to save power.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2012Date of Patent: January 19, 2016Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Brendan J.
