  • Patent number: 7328262
Abstract: In a mobile network a packet interface (103) is monitored by a tap (160-163) in a non-intrusive manner. Captured transaction data is uploaded to a probe (155-158) linked to one or more taps. The probe acts as a slave to a server (159), activating and terminating data capture. A coordinator (601) of the probe (155) manages data capture and buffering according to the server. The server (150) filters the data according to a subscriber registry (203) and loads data until there are complete protocol descriptions. These provide real time subscriber-centered QoS metrics.

  • Patent number: 6832085
Abstract: The collection, processing, analysis and employment of real-time, call traffic event data in a wireless or radio telecommunications network is more effectively achieved by providing a continuous flow of real-time call traffic event data from a network element level or network level switch to an open, external processing platform over a standardized, open event interface. By continuously transferring call traffic event data to an open processing platform for processing, wherein the open processing platform is external to the network element level of network level switch, the central processing unit in the network element level or network level switch is more readily available to handle real-time critical operations. Once processed on the open, external processing platform, the call traffic event data can be used to support various network management functions to improve overall performance of the network.

  • Publication number: 20030045275
Abstract: A piconet of consumer devices (1) communicate with the Bluetooth protocol, and a mobile phone (2) automatically captures consumer data including user data and device data. The mobile phone (2) has a Bluetooth interface, a mobile network interface, and a bridging circuit between them. The bridging circuit is used to automatically update a management system (2) with captured data via the mobile network. The management system (3) uses the captured data to update a user profile. It then uses the profile data to filter available services and push the selected services to the user.
