Abstract: Systems and methods are described for automatically controlling a lighting device with an adaptive vacancy timer. A first input signal is received indicative of a presence of an occupant and, in response, the at least one lighting device is turned on and a timer is initiated. When a second input signal indicative of the presence of the occupant is received, the timer is incremented by a defined amount. The timer is decremented as time elapses and the at least one lighting device is turned off when the timer is decremented to zero.
