  • Publication number: 20080163827
Abstract: Described is a collar saddle device for maintaining the position of a device carried by an animal at the top of the animal's neck. The collar saddle device includes a saddle, a carried device, and a collar. The saddle is fixedly secured to the collar and includes a contoured portion that is structured to substantially parallel the contour of the top of the animal's neck. The carried device is fixedly secured to the collar and is situated proximately to the saddle. The contoured portion of the saddle matingly receives the top of the animal's neck to the extent that the saddle does not slide or rotate from the top of the animal's neck. Because the saddle and the carried device are situated proximately along the collar, the position of the carried device is maintained at the top of the animal's neck.

  • Publication number: 20080060927
Abstract: A button assembly for selectively actuating a switch. The button assembly (10) includes a button member (16) for being mounted in an opening of a housing. The button member (16) is fabricated of a resilient material and defines an outer surface (38) that can be depressed to bring the button assembly (10) into contact with the switch for purposes of actuating the switch. The button assembly (10) also includes a compression ring (26) for being received in a bore (28) provided in the button member (16) whereby the compression ring (26) compresses the button member against the edges of the housing that define the opening in the housing creating a substantially liquid impervious seal and holding the button assembly (10) in place in the opening.

  • Publication number: 20070107671
Abstract: An antenna mounting for an animal collar including an O-ring and associated retainer disposed in an opening through the housing of a radio frequency receiver. The O-ring is compressed into multiple sealing locations between the circumference of the antenna and its surrounding structure to create a resilient hermetic seal between the antenna and such surrounding structure, and to resiliently suspend the antenna within the opening in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20050274824
Abstract: Disclosed is a pneumatic liquid nutrient dispensing assembly for hydroponically cultivated plants. The assembly includes a reservoir and a liquid nutrient dispenser disposed within the reservoir. The liquid nutrient dispenser includes a substantially coaxial pump body with inner and outer tubes forming a distribution end having a distribution hub and an inlet end having a liquid intake structure. Airflow in an annular duct formed between the walls of the coaxial tubes enters the inner tube through an annular passage and carries liquid nutrient within the inner tube to the distribution hub. Distribution members fluidly connected to the distribution hub direct a flow of liquid nutrients and air to one or more plants.

  • Patent number: 6011491
Abstract: An in-line roller skate includes a transducer portion capable of sensing the rotary movement of at least one wheel on the roller skate and transmitting information concerning the same to a receiver worn on a user's wrist. In the preferred embodiment, the transducer portion includes a magnet attached to one of the plurality of wheels and a sensor positioned in a shoe portion to detect the magnet and produce electrical pulses containing information corresponding to the angular velocity of the wheel. The transducer portion also includes a micro-controller, a transmitter and an antenna. The micro-controller creates a digital data stream containing information corresponding to the angular velocity of the wheel, which is then modulated onto a carrier wave produced by the transmitter. The transmitter transmits the coded signals to the receiver. The receiver demodulates the carrier wave, reproducing the digital data stream.
