  • Patent number: 11344697
Abstract: A multi-lumen catheter, for insertion into and draining a body cavity, that mitigates the risk of obstruction of the drainage ports and drainage lumen of the catheter, reduces the detrimental effects caused by the suction forces of the drainage ports on the body cavity being drained, and reduces the risk of infection of the body cavity being drained by decreasing the residual volume of fluid retained in the body cavity being drained. These advantages are achieved by the novel approach of disposing a perforated filter membrane or a membrane having a relatively large entry port(s) between membrane struts over a segmented retention element and also over the drainage port(s) of the drainage lumen of the catheter thereby creating internal interstitial drainage channels and internal interstitial drainage cavities.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 31, 2022

  • Patent number: 9988784
Abstract: A method and apparatus for rapidly constructing a structural pier comprising the steps of placing into a soil under a structure to be supported a casing having an inner diameter and an outer diameter, positioning an injection tube into the inner diameter of the casing, and injecting an expansive material into the casing. Optional perforations in the casing allow some of the expansive material to be ejected from the casing into the surrounding soil to create fingers or branches for the purpose of adding friction to the structural pier.

  • Publication number: 20170073919
Abstract: The present invention relates to in-place soil stabilization. Specifically, the present invention relates a method and device for measuring the increase in subsurface earth pressure or soil displacement during the injection of a stabilizing agent into the soil and prior to surface movement. The rise in sensor pressure or displacement of soil indicates an increase in soil strength and bearing capacity. Therefore, real-time monitoring of these pressures or movements may serve as a guide during the injection process.

  • Publication number: 20160031125
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods to fill large holes rapidly with polyurethanes by injecting polyurethanes in a plurality of containers having volumes less than the volume of the hole to be filled, letting the polyurethanes cure in the containers, and using the polyurethane-filled containers to fill the large hole. Additional filling polymers may be added in between and on top of each layer of polyurethane-filled containers.

  • Publication number: 20100272518
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus for soil stabilization. First, a void is formed in the compromised soil strata. Then, an expandable member containing expandable materials is placed into the void. As the material expands to fill the void, the surrounding soil is compressed. This in situ compression if the soil increases the load bearing capacity and compressive strength of the soil. Additionally, the present invention provides a method for isolating the injected materials from the environment at the injection and/or polymerization point.

  • Patent number: 6149540
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission (CVT) system for use on snowmobiles, ATV's and similar vehicles. The CVT includes a rotatable drive clutch connected to an input shaft (the input shaft being connectable to an engine), and a roller clutch carried on the input shaft. The CVT also includes a rotatable driven clutch connected to an output shaft, the driven clutch having a laterally stationary sheave and a laterally movable sheave that is normally biased toward the stationary sheave. An endless flexible drive belt is disposed about the drive and driven clutches. The clutches and drive belt are configured so that when the engine is idling the belt firmly engages a drive surface of the roller clutch that is connected to the drive clutch.
