Abstract: An assembly for intubation, as provided herein, may include a cricothyroidotomy tube that can receive a malleable bougie allowing the cricothyroidotomy tube to take the shape of the bougie so that the cricothyroidotomy tube can be placed in a patient. A guide device can receive the bougie so that the bougie can be manipulated with the guide device to assist with insertion of the cricothyroidotomy tube in the patient. A bougie opening can be defined in the guide device for receiving a proximal end of the bougie to position the proximal end out of the way of a care giver to reduce interference that can be caused by the proximal end. Markings on the bougie can illustrate where to position the bougie to allow a predetermined amount of the bougie to extend from the cricothyroidotomy tube.

The catheter can include a rigid portion and a deformable portion wherein the deformable portion can be multi-ported at its distal end. A one-way valve contained in a catheter hub attached to the catheter wherein the one way valve is in an open position when the needle is received in the catheter. Lateral catheter openings can be defined in the catheter and disposed adjacent to a distal end of the catheter. A plunger can be received within the needle and have an visual and auditory indicator that can be appreciated through the needle hub.

Abstract: A tourniquet with audio instructions comprising: a tourniquet with a belt, clip, securing strap, and instruction module; a release switch can be activated when the tourniquet is put in use so that audio instructions are provided to the user for using the tourniquet. The invention can include the instruction module being carried by a holster that also carries the tourniquet. The instruction module can be activated when the tourniquet is removed from the holster, unfolded or manually actuated. The tourniquet can be retained in a holster and the instruction module is activated when the tourniquet is removed from the holster.

Abstract: The present invention is a tourniquet comprising: a strap; a pelvic pad included in the strap having a pocket defined in the pelvic pad for receiving a semi-rigid stiffening member; base plates slidably attached to the strap allowing the base plates to be positioned along the strap; a threaded shaft received in each of the base plates; a pressure pad removable attached to a distal end of each of the shafts; a handle attached to a proximal end of each of the shafts having openings defined in each end of the handle; and, a rotational arresting strap attached to each base plate having a securing tab that can be received in one of the handle openings thereby preventing the shaft from rotating when the securing tab is received in sand handle opening.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a removably attachable tourniquet holster comprising: wings hingeably attached to a back panel wherein the wings can be folded inward and removably attached to each other to define a slot for receiving a strap attached to an article; side support wings hingeably attached to the back panel; and, a front panel removably attached to the side support wings to define a tourniquet compartment for receiving a tourniquet. The tourniquet allows for a single handed opening of the tourniquet to reveal the tourniquet compartment allowing one handed retrieval of a tourniquet form the tourniquet holster. The tourniquet can be attached in a manner so as to reduce the impact on the existing fasteners of the article for which tourniquet holster is attached.

Abstract: The objects of the invention are accomplished by providing a hypothermia management apparatus comprising: a receiving cavity defined by an outer shell arranged and sealable to encircle an injured person; an internal layer attached to the outer shell wherein the internal layer includes a bottom sheet disposed generally under the injured person when the injured person is placed in the receiving cavity and a top sheet disposed generally on top of the injured person when the injured person is placed in the receiving cavity; an inner liner attached to the bottom sheet of the internal layer forming an internal cavity; and, an absorption layer attached to the inner liner disposed generally under the injured person when the injured person is placed in the outer shell; and, a heater assembly disposed in the internal cavity.
