  • Patent number: 11977399
Abstract: A fluid monitoring system is provided, which includes a control unit and at least one fluid pressure recorder. The recorder is configured for direct connection to a pipeline portion of a system to be monitored and includes upstream and downstream pressure sensors. The control unit is configured to detect, and provide for display or trigger an action, in the event that a new downstream pressure is more than a threshold number of standard deviations above or below a mean downstream pressure determined from prior readings of the downstream pressure—even though neither the minimum nor maximum pressure of the pipeline portion is reached. A fluid monitoring system for a regulator on a pipeline system is also provided.

  • Patent number: 11965769
Abstract: A method, meter and device capable of determining the accuracy, proof, or percent of error of a meter in service. The method is configured to establish one or more baseline flow measurements for the meter, the meter configured to measure a flow through the meter; obtain a current flow measurement for the meter; and determine a proving result in accordance with a comparing of the current flow measurement to the one or more baseline flow measurements.

  • Patent number: 11725973
Abstract: By implementing an oil monitoring in a rotary meter, the meter can check the oil level, condition and/or both level and condition and report any issues detected such as out-of-limit low oil condition, contamination, etc. The function can trigger a preventative maintenance on the rotary gas meter with a view to improving its longevity. Oil level monitoring may be signalled using sensors such as switches. Oil colour, clarity, aeration and foaming, corrosion, varnish, wear debris, or other quality monitoring may be signalled using sensors such as spectrometers. A rotary meter may be configured with one or more such sensors for (multi-)parameter monitoring and the one or more sensors positioned in respective locations such as at an oil reservoir.

  • Patent number: 11725970
Abstract: A fluid monitoring system is provided, which includes at least one fluid vibration sensing unit to provide at least one fluid vibration signal from at least one location on a measuring chamber of a meter to be monitored. The system also includes one or more display units, and a control unit configured to be coupled to the at least one fluid vibration sensing unit and the one or more display units. The control unit is configured to detect a condition from the respective location using the at least one fluid vibration sensing unit and communicate to at least one or more display units to provide a display of the condition. A meter with a fluid monitoring system is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20210262839
Abstract: A working condition monitoring system for a positive displacement rotary flow meter determines flow rate and differential pressure information for logging to determine a history of such data for a meter in the field. Deviation from good working data established for the meter model may be used such as to indicate maintenance and/or repair needs. Mechanical or other wear in a meter may lead to higher differential pressure measures for a given flow rate (or a lower measured flow rate for a given differential pressure) than is true for a meter in good working order. A corrective factor responsive at least to a current different pressure may be applied to correct a measure of flow rate that is determined in response to a measure of impeller rotation to account for additional flow of gas through the meter that is not driving the impeller(s).
