Patent number: 9546755Abstract: An accessory mounting system comprises a vertically aligned bracket configured to mate with a top corner block and a bottom corner block disposed below the top corner block of a pre-configured shipping container. A shaft may mount to the vertically aligned bracket and may have a first section slidable into a second section. In some examples, an accessory may be coupled to the shaft. The accessory may be elevated above a top plane of the pre-configured shipping container when the first section is slid at least partially out of the second section and the accessory mounting system is in an extended position. The accessory may be disposed next to the pre-configured shipping container when the first section is slid at least partially into the second section and the accessory mounting system is in a retracted position.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2014Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Inventors: Andrew N. Patent number: 9429341Abstract: Expandable shelters having a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system arranged to receive outside air away from a mechanical compartment are disclosed. The expandable shelters may comprise an air inlet vent disposed in a front of the expandable shelter interconnected to an in-floor air duct arranged to draw outside air below an interior floor and exchange heat with the coolest area of the expandable shelter. By virtue of having an air inlet vent receive outside air from a location substantially away from the mechanical compartment and exchange heat with the coolest area of the expandable shelter, an environmental control unit (ECU), housed in the mechanical compartment, receives relatively cool outside air, keeping air temperatures inside the mechanical compartment below the upper operating limit of the ECU.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2015Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: Berg Companies, Inc.Inventor: Brent Condie

Patent number: 8650806Abstract: A thermally isolated portable expandable shelter may include a frame substantially similar in configuration to a shipping container and a movable portion comprising a plurality of rigid panels. The shelter may be movable between a stowed state and a fixed state, wherein the plurality of panels is folded into the frame in the stowed state and fold out during deployment. In some embodiments the plurality of panels may comprise structural insulated panels so that an interior defined by the expandable shelter is thermally isolated from an exterior. The portable expandable shelter may have reduced installation time, improved strength in both the stowed and deployed states, and reduced energy requirements.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Assignee: Berg Companies, Inc.Inventor: Brent Condie
