  • Patent number: 7985094
Abstract: Connector block for electrically connecting a plurality of insulated conductors of a first data cable to corresponding insulated conductors of a second data cable, including first and second opposed rows of insulation displacement contacts (IDCs) extending out of a common side of the connector block for electrical connection with respective ones of the insulated conductors of the first data cable and the second data cable; and a plurality of pairs of levers coupled to the block, wherein relative movement of the levers of each pair of said pairs with respect to corresponding opposed IDCs of the first and second rows of IDCs electrically connects respective ones of the insulated conductors of the first data cable and the second data cable with said opposed IDCs.

  • Publication number: 20110101148
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (10) for dispensing a telecommunication cable (12) from a reel (14), wherein the device (10) comprises the following: a first and a second end element that are separated by one or more transverse elements (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d); and an axis (22) that extends at least partially between the end elements (16, 18) so as to rotatably connect the reel (14) to the device, wherein the cable can be pulled from the reel over one of the one or more transverse elements.

  • Publication number: 20110088434
Abstract: Apparatus for mechanically splicing two optic fibers, including an inner section including scoring apparatus, cleaving channels and a splicing channel; and two optic fiber restraining members, each being in operative communication with, and movable with respect to, the inner section; wherein restraining members locate end sections of optic fiber cores of said optic fibers in respective cleaving channels for scoring by said scoring apparatus; and wherein relative movement of the restraining members away from the inner section cleaves said end sections of optic fiber cores; and further relative movement between the restraining members and the inner section located cleaved end sections of said optic fiber cores into respective openings of the splicing channel to effect mechanical splicing therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7858887
Abstract: A broadband over power line housing which allows coupling between power lines and a broadband signal system. Cables enter and exit from a first housing portion. Connection circuitry is housed in a second housing unit selectively connectable to the first housing unit. A latch provides the selective connection, and includes three positions: a first latched position wherein the circuitry within the first and second housing units is electrically connected; a second latched position wherein the circuitry is disconnected; and a disconnected position where the first and second housing portions can be separated from one another. In one embodiment, the latch is operated with a hook stick between the first and second positions, allowing an operator to engage or disengage the circuitry from the ground. A visual indicator may be provided to indicate to the operator when the housing is in the latched and electrically disconnected state.

  • Publication number: 20100144188
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric connector (100) having electric contact elements (206) to which an electric contact may be established using contacts of a matching plug by insertion of the plug into the electric connector (100) via an outlet (202), said electric connector also comprising a hollow space (106) in which a substantial intermediate length of one or more electric contact elements (206) is exposed via an upper input (110), and a dust cover (108), attachable in a removable fashion via the upper input (110) in order to prevent impurities from entering the hollow space (106).

  • Patent number: 7695308
Abstract: A connection module for housing a contact element used to electrically connect wires within the module, the module being formed of first and second parts arranged to interfit so as to define a first set of openings, each being shaped to receive an end section of one of said wires for electric connection to the contact element, which pass into the module from a first end face toward an opposite second end face, the first part having first and second slots in opposed side walls, and the second part having a first protrusion which is received in a first one of the slots to at least partially fill an open end of said first one of said slots to thereby define an aperture to allow a test probe to access the contact element.
