Abstract: A button closure replacement system is disclosed, comprising a button replacement portion comprising a button cover defining a button chamber for accommodating a button, and a restriction for retaining the button within the button chamber, wherein the button cover has a fastening material on an outward surface, a button hole insert having a dumbbell shape, the insert comprising a backing disk on one end for passing through a button hole and retaining the insert within the button hole; and a facing disk having a fastening material thereon, and the button cover and facing disk releasably retain each other to close a button closure. Further disclosed is a zipper closure fastening system, comprising first and second zipper covers, each comprising a spring clip having a fastener thereon for fitting over a zipper side, wherein the fasteners of the first and second zipper covers releasably retain each other.

Abstract: A filter and adhesive tape dispenser has a case containing a filter roll of filter material and an adhesive roll of adhesive material, and having a filter aperture and an adhesive aperture wherein the filter material projects from the filter aperture and the adhesive material projects from the adhesive aperture. There may be a filter cutter adjacent to the filter aperture for cutting the filter material, and an adhesive cutter adjacent the adhesive aperture for cutting the adhesive material. The case may have a pocket for rolling papers, and the pocket may have slits for the rolling papers to project through.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a method, system and apparatus for detecting a merchandise marker in which a first antenna has a circuit having a first loop defining a first area and a second loop defining a second area substantially coplanar with the first area. A second antenna is substantially coplanar and orthogonally positioned with respect to the first antenna. The second antenna has a circuit having a third loop defining a third area and a fourth loop defining a fourth area substantially coplanar with the third area.

Abstract: A method is presented for a GUI mechanism to restrict user input within a GUI window. A GUI control disablement function is activated by selecting a GUI control, which is dedicated to selecting enablement or disablement of the GUI control disablement function. When a user input event is received, the received user input event is discarded when the GUI control disablement function is in an activated state. At a granularity over an entire window, a user can select a GUI control that is associated with a GUI window, and the GUI control is not contained within the GUI window. The GUI window is then locked in response to selecting the GUI control such that subsequent user input for GUI controls within the GUI window cannot select those GUI controls.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for identifying a caller status. A status for a selected entry in an electronic phone book in a communications device is retrieved. The status of the selected entry is presented prior to initiating the call for the selected entry in response to a selection of the selected entry for a call by a user.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method to display time-segmented descriptions of events that have happened in a currently airing television program. In this invention, the program is divided into segments. The present invention generates a description of the events that occur in each time segment. Each time segment will have a unique time designation that will identify the time range for that segment.

Abstract: A storage device for dining preferences. The storage device includes a card, a memory, and a communications interface. The memory is located within the card. The memory stores a plurality of dining preferences for at least one restaurant. The dining preferences are portable from location to location and are capable of repetitious use. The communications interface allows for the dining preferences to be read from the memory by a data processing system at a restaurant for use in generating a food order.
