Patent number: 10876347Abstract: Rotating door systems and methods for rotating a plurality of rotatable doors between a closed position and an open position are provided. Each of the rotatable doors may have a height measured in a vertical direction between opposing horizontal edges, a width measured in a horizontal direction between opposing vertical edges, and an axis of rotation centrally located between the opposing vertical edges. The rotatable doors may be rotatably coupled to an upper support at the axis of rotation via an upper pivot shaft and rotatably coupled to a lower support at the axis of rotation via a lower pivot shaft. The rotatable doors may be at least partially transparent. The rotation of one or more of the rotatable doors may be controlled by a controller.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2016Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: James Andrus, Ed Wright, James McGrath, Marco Albertini, Brent Gordon, Hilton Perry

Patent number: 7475458Abstract: A casket assembly comprising a coffin base, an outer decorative casket configured to conceal the coffin base, a first support leaf, and a first operating handle. In one embodiment, the coffin base has a first side and a first ledge projecting outwardly from the first side. The outer decorative casket has a first panel and a first support leaf having first and second edges. The first support leaf is hingedly coupled along the first edge to the first panel and is configured to rotate around the first edge between a stowed position and a coffin-support position. In the coffin-support position, the second edge is proximate an underside of the first ledge. The first operating handle is coupled to the first support leaf and configured to positively lock the first support leaf in the stowed position or the coffin-support position. A method of manufacturing a casket assembly is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2007Date of Patent: January 13, 2009Assignee: Compassionate Funeral Systems, Inc.Inventors: John Brent Gordon, Billy Frank Dotson, Jr.

Patent number: 6984908Abstract: A rotor for a permanent magnet motor includes a rotor body and a plurality of permanent magnets carried by the rotor body. The rotor body has an outside rotor surface with a plurality of dovetail slots formed on the outside rotor surface. Each magnet is fit within one of the slots, protruding outward of the outside rotor surface in a radial direction. According to another embodiment, a rotor is provided having a rotor body that carries a plurality of magnets on its outside surface, and end caps that are fastened respectively to longitudinal ends of the rotor body. The end caps each have a angled rim surfaces that overhangs an end portion of the outer magnet surface of each of the magnets to retain the magnets onto the rotor body. The angled rim surfaces and the magnets can be configured such that by drawing the end caps tightly against the rotor body by use of fasteners, the magnets are wedged down onto the rotor body by the angled rim surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2003Date of Patent: January 10, 2006Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Brent Gordon Rinholm, Randall John Griffin, Joseph H.
