The lower portion is tapered such that the diameter of the lower portion proximate the upper portion is greater than the diameter of the lower portion distal the upper portion. A plurality of adapter wedges are mounted to the mounting assembly, and have a first side facing outward from the mounting assembly and a tapered second side facing the lower portion of the adapter. A luminaire is attached to the adapter. The adapter and support bracket provides for installation in light poles having varying inside diameters.
