Abstract: Vises utilizing a threaded screw and nut to translate rotary motion of the screw into linear relative movement of vise components. The nut may be a half-nut urged into contact with the screw by a cam that may be operated by a lever located near the handle for turning the screw. A tail vise embodiment may be mounted to the underside of a workbench without signification bench modification and positions the screw near the front edge of the bench top. A front vise embodiment may include a screw cover to protect workpieces from contact with the screw.

Abstract: An adjustable handle for a tool that can be pivoted “forward and backward,” or “side to side,” and locked in a desired position to facilitate use of the tool and handle, and a woodworking plane with such a handle. The plane may be a small scraping plane that, optionally, includes a camber screw for inducing a camber in the blade, or a lever cap thumb screw threaded into the plane body. The plane may also be a bench, block, shoulder, rabbet or other plane, and the handle may be configured in a wide variety of different shapes.

Abstract: A honing guide and bevel setting jig for removable attachment to the honing guide to properly position the angle and projection of a tool to be sharpened in the jig to enable the tool to be honed at the proper angle and position. An adjustable roller that contacts an abrasive surface during use of the guide facilitates formation of micro bevels. A tool securing bar having a generally triangular shape in the bar's middle section forces the arris-defining back of the tool being honed against a reference surface in the guide by tightening thumb nuts around threaded studs projecting from the bar. Jigs for use with both square and skew edge chisel and blades are described. A concave surface clamp bar honing guide provides enhanced gripping of the tool being honed, and wedges and adjustable structures expand the range of bevel angles that can be honed.

Abstract: A router table assembly including a plate with router mounting clamps, a plate leveling system for securing and positioning the plate in the router table and a plate lift assembly. Components of this system are usable separately. Use of these components together provides a particularly easy to use, highly functional router table apparatus.

Abstract: Router bits or cutters and methods of using such bits and cutters that enables a slotting cutter to cut a groove having appropriate widths and depths around the entirety of an assembled frame or box so that portions of the panel (or top or bottom in the case of a box) tongue is received around the entire panel, including in the corners. The slotting cutters of this invention have diametric proportions that allow a ⅛″ to {fraction (3/16)}″ deep slot to be cut with a sufficiently small radius at corners to produce a continuous slot around the inside of a frame or box corner.
