  • Patent number: 11900729
Abstract: An eyewear having an electronic processor configured to identify a hand gesture including a sign language, and to generate speech that is indicative of the identified hand gesture. The electronic processor uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) to identify the hand gesture by matching the hand gesture in the image to a set of hand gestures, wherein the set of hand gestures is a library of hand gestures stored in a memory. The hand gesture can include a static hand gesture, and a moving hand gesture. The electronic processor is configured to identify a word from a series of hand gestures.

  • Patent number: 11681146
Abstract: Disclosed is a providing visual assistance using a head-worn device including one or more display devices and one or more cameras. The method comprises capturing a forward visual field using at least one of the cameras and displaying a portion of the forward visual field in a peripheral field of view using one or more of the display devices. The method may provide improved visual perception for people with macular degeneration. The method may include mapping a central portion of the forward visual field to a near-peripheral field of view, wherein the mapped central portion is displayed in a peripheral field of view using a forward display device of the head-worn device. • Publication number: 20230035668
Abstract: A method of providing prescription glasses to a user according to their vision prescription includes performing an eye test using a display device of a head-worn device to determine the user's vision prescription. A selection of available glasses frames are displayed on an associated portable device and user selection of a glasses frame is received using the portable device. An AR model of the selected glasses frame is displayed on an image of the user captured by a camera of the portable device. Final user selection of a glasses frame is received, and the user's vision prescription and an identifier of the finally-selected glasses frame are transmitted to at least one vendor of optical prescription services.

  • Patent number: 10603605
Abstract: An apparatus may include a float member and an output line. The float member is configured in contacting adjacency to first and second liquids contained in a container. The first liquid is less dense than the second liquid such that the first liquid floats on top of the second liquid. The float member may have a specific gravity selected responsive to the first and second liquids. When the second liquid is pulled from the container through the output line to a predetermined level, the float member occludes the output line. The specific gravity of the float member may be selected based on the fluid in the container previously, currently, or in the future, or some combination of the three. The specific gravity of the float member may be adjusted by changing material within the float member or changing the float member itself from a plurality of float members.

  • Publication number: 20160121238
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, an apparatus may include a float member and retention member. The retention member is configured to retain the float member in fluid communication with at least one fluid in an interior of a container. The float member in a first position in relation to the retention member limits the at least one fluid from leaving the interior of the container, and the float member in a different, second position in relation to the retention member promotes the at least one fluid leaving the interior of the container. The retention member is in substantially the same relative position to the container in the first position and the second position.

  • Patent number: 9155234
Abstract: An electrical device, includes electrical pins that protrude from an enclosing metal housing. A compressible protrusion around the pins is formed out of the material of the metal housing. The protrusion is formed such that (1) an EMI shield does not exist around the pins when the pins are not engaged to an electrical coupler, and (2) the EMI shield is formed around the electrical pins when the protrusion is compressed by an electrical coupler engaging the electrical pins.

  • Publication number: 20070220002
Abstract: System for managing web calls to a computer system including multiple computers. The system monitors the health of the computers for problems which could lead to disruption of service to users. Detected problems are mitigated by dividing the computers into different computer groups and routing users to the different computer groups so as to isolate, in one of the computer groups, a group of users potentially responsible for the problems.
