Abstract: Location-based searches for venues for a mobile computing device. An application server system may determine search results in response to a search query, comprising a search location, received from the mobile computing device. The application server system determines, for each search query, whether the search location is within a threshold distance from a location of the mobile computing device. If within the threshold distance, the application server system transmits search result data comprising, for each example venue in the search results, a distance of the venue to the location of the mobile computing device. If not within the threshold distance, the application server system transmits search result data comprising, for each venue in the search results, a distance of the venue to the search location.

Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to systems and methods for checking in at a business with a mobile computing device. For example, the mobile computing device may receive via a data network, location information for a venue. The mobile computing device may also determine whether a location of the mobile computing device is available. Conditioned upon the location of the mobile computing device being available, the mobile computing device may determine whether the location of the mobile computing device is within a threshold distance of the venue. Conditioned upon the location of the mobile computing device being within the threshold distance of the venue, the mobile computing device may send a check-in message to a server. The check-in message may indicate that the user of the mobile computing device is at the venue.

Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to systems and methods for determining a neighborhood location of a person using a mobile computing device. The mobile computing device may transmit its location to an application server system. The application server system may perform at least one search of a venue database over a plurality of venue categories considering the received location and may determine a neighborhood location of the mobile computing device based on results of the search.

Abstract: A compact merchandiser cooler is provided for chilling food and/or beverage containers. The compact merchandiser cooler utilizes thermoelectric cooling technology and is configured to be positioned within the line of sight of customers that are either approaching or present at a point of purchase so as to effectively promote impulse purchases. The compact merchandiser cooler includes a base assembly, a housing assembly, and a lid. The housing assembly may include a number of thermoelectrically cooled sleeves that are arranged in a substantially horizontal array to allow customers easy access to containers received within the sleeves. Additionally, to further attract consumer notice, the compact merchandiser cooler may be customized with branding information related to the food and/or beverage containers to be chilled within the compact merchandiser cooler.
