Abstract: A method of providing advertisements using an email distribution list comprises generating a non-functional domain name list using a list of a plurality of email addresses that comprises a plurality of domain names, comparing each domain name of the plurality of domain names to each email address in the list of the plurality of email addresses, determining that one or more of the email addresses in the list of the plurality of email addresses comprise at least one domain name in the non-functional domain name list, marking each email address in the list of the plurality of email addresses that comprise the at least one domain name in the non-functional domain name list as non-functional, generating a message, selecting a first plurality of email addresses from the list of the plurality of email addresses, and sending the message to each email address of the first plurality of email addresses.
