    Abstract: An example method to configure a radiography system having a radiation emitter and a radiation detector involves: analyzing, using processing circuitry, a reference image captured using a first value of a first power parameter for the radiation emitter to determine a value of a focal spot size for the radiation emitter; based on a determined relationship between the first value of the first power parameter and the value of the focal spot size, output an indication of whether a selected value of the first power parameter results in a value of an unsharpness parameter satisfying a threshold unsharpness value; and control the radiography system using the selected power parameter to perform a radiography process to obtain one or more radiographic images that satisfy the threshold unsharpness value.

In a preferred embodiment, the heater (42) is a wire heater that extends in the wall (30) of the probe (10) from the base (12) to the tip (18), and surrounds a sampling chamber (24) in the probe (10) in a spiral pattern.
