  • Publication number: 20170080361
Abstract: A strainer has a strainer body with a width and a height. The height of the strainer body is smaller than the width of the strainer body. The strainer body has a serpentine cross-sectional profile to provide rigidity and straining area. A fuel injector includes a strainer as described and a nozzle body with a fuel circuit defined therein. The strainer is integrally coupled to the nozzle body and is in fluid communication with the fuel circuit to remove entrained particulate from fuel traversing the strainer prior to the fuel reaching the fuel circuit.

  • Patent number: 9556795
Abstract: A fuel injector for a gas turbine engine includes a nozzle tip assembly having a substantially monolithically formed nozzle body. The nozzle body has an annular outlet chamber for issuing a spray from the nozzle tip. A feed channel is in fluid communication with the outlet chamber through a feed passage. A heat shield void substantially surrounds the feed channel(s).

  • Publication number: 20160215982
Abstract: A swirler includes a swirler body and a plurality of axial swirl vanes extending radially outward from the swirler body. At least one of the swirler body or vanes includes a spring channel defined therethrough. A fuel injector for a gas turbine engine can include an inner air swirler and/or outer air swirler as described above.

  • Patent number: 9068510
Abstract: A machined spring for injector applications includes opposed first and second spring bases separated apart along a longitudinal axis. A spring body connects the first and second spring bases. The spring body includes a generally annular wall with a plurality of spring channels defined therethrough, such as machined channels. Exemplary applications for such machined springs include liquid strainers, valve components, and structural components for accommodating thermal expansion in injectors.
