Abstract: A data processing system implements analyzing textual content of a reply email message as the reply email message is being authored by a first user in a first application on a first client device. The reply email message is created in response to a previously received email message. The system also implements detecting that the textual content of the reply email includes an inline reply, the inline reply is being inserted within a textual content of the previously received email message; and responsive to detecting the inline reply, causing the first application to automatically configure one or more attributes of an appearance of a font associated with the inline reply to distinguish the inline reply from the textual content of the previously received email message, and display the inline reply with the appearance of the font of the inline reply determined based on the one or more attributes.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed to mobile clock devices. In one example of the technology, a device includes a first screen, a second screen, and a controller. The second screen is physically coupled to the first screen, and is facing a different direction than the first screen. The controller is configured to cause the first screen to operate as a clock display. The controller is further configured to cause the second screen to provide indirect light such that the indirect light gradually increases beginning at a time proximate to a predetermined time until the predetermined time is reached.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method is for enabling a user to efficiently navigate to a portion of a user interface configured to support performance of a particular task. The method includes receiving from the user an input that includes a description of the particular task. A result set is returned to the user and includes a plurality of candidate tasks that correspond to the description. The candidate tasks are displayed relative to an indication of at least one corresponding applet.

Abstract: A computer media and method for generating visual previews for themes of an operating environment are provided. The visual previews are generated by a theme engine that retrieves files associated with each theme. The theme engine sizes and positions visual and non-visual elements corresponding to each theme. In turn, a gallery of visual previews are displayed to a user via a graphical user interface. The graphical user interface includes theme customization controls that allow the user to create personalized themes for the operating environment.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method is for rendering a display associated with a task-oriented user interface. The method includes receiving a request to display a category view that includes an indication of a plurality of task categories. A system database is referenced to gain access to a collection of information that is indicative as to which of a plurality of tasks are affiliated with a given task category. The plurality of task categories are displayed each in association with one or more affiliated tasks.
