  • Publication number: 20120130497
Abstract: An arthroplasty spinal prosthesis with first and second vertebra contacting members that are configured for engaging opposing vertebrae An articulation is supportively associated with the contacting members to allow relative pivotal and translational motion therebetween over anterior-posterior and lateral pivotal axes, and over anterior-posterior and lateral translational axes. This motion allows the opposing vertebrae to pivot and translate with respect to each other. The articulation is configured to permit translational movement substantially uncoupled from the pivoting movement.

  • Patent number: 7214243
Abstract: A vertebral disk prosthesis with at least one member that has lateral portions coupled to each other and structured to move between contracted and expanded positions. In the contracted position, the member has a first lateral width and the end surface is narrower than the lateral width of a vertebral body of a patient. In the expanded position, the lateral portions are disposed such that the member has a second lateral width that is larger than the first lateral width and the axial end surface is configured for supporting and abutting the periphery of the body at least on both the lateral sides thereof. An expansion member is disposed between the lateral portions and configured for moving the lateral portions to the expanded position. The prosthesis is preferably also axially expandable. A method and tool for inserting the intervertebral disk prostheses are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070094449
Abstract: System, method and program for managing a storage server comprising first and second clusters of storage controllers. The first cluster comprises one or more storage controllers each controlling one or more storage arrays. The first cluster also comprises a first cache memory and a first nonvolatile storage (“NVS”) shared by the one or more storage controllers of the first cluster. The second cluster comprises one or more storage controllers each controlling one or more storage arrays. The second cluster also comprises a second cache memory and a second nonvolatile storage shared by the one or more storage controllers of the second cluster. There is monitoring of an amount of time that data controlled by each of the clusters is held in the cache memory of the cluster before being outpaged to the storage arrays. There is monitoring of an amount of requests to access storage arrays of a cluster that were delayed due to insufficient NVS.
