  • Patent number: 9635850
Abstract: Floating devices which may contain a floating body, a stabilizer pivotally attached to the floating body at a pivot axis, a protruding portion of the floating body extending away from the pivot axis, a buoyancy cavity, and an air pump are disclosed herein. Such floating devices may undergo stabilized pneumatic pitching and have features such as a stabilizer that rotates freely with respect to the floating body along the pivot axis, a buoyancy cavity that is in fluid communication with the air pump, and buoyancy cavity that has an alternating displacement volume that is sufficient to cause the floating body to rotate greater than 35 degrees with respect to the stabilizer upon application of a continuous supply of air from the air pump.
