  • Publication number: 20070190502
Abstract: A system and method for creating a simulation of a terrain that enables simulated views of the terrain to be rendered. The simulated views may include illumination effects (e.g., shading) that correspond to simulated illumination conditions. The simulated views may be substantially devoid of illumination effects present in one or more images of the terrain from which the simulation is created. Thus, the simulation may provide the simulated views with realistic, dynamic illumination effects, which may enhance an overall realism of the simulation.

  • Publication number: 20070153023
Abstract: A system and method for temporally anti-aliasing a display of a set of frames rendered from scene information without significantly increasing an amount of processing power used in rendering the frames. In some embodiments of the invention, a view used to render the frames from the scene information may be modulated between renderings of successive frames. This modulation of the view may temporally blend pixel colors displayed in pixels at or near color transitions in the frames by causing the pixel colors of these pixels to fluctuate between frames, thereby reducing aliasing present at these transitions as the human eye observing the display of the frames innately averages the fluctuating pixel colors.

  • Publication number: 20060080072
Abstract: Simulating a moving body from a plurality of observer views includes maintaining data representing the moving body. The data includes cells, where a cell is associated with one or more cell meshes. An observer view is associated with a corresponding observer position, a corresponding cell mesh, and an associated resolution. A cell mesh associated with an observer view for a cell is distinct from one or more other cell meshes associated with other observer views for the cell. The dynamic moving body is rendered in real time from the observer views according to the data representing the dynamic moving body.

  • Publication number: 20050259108
Abstract: In one embodiment, software is operable to identify a plurality of repeatable textures. The texture coordinates used by at least one of the plurality of repeatable textures is then modified using the software. A new texel fragment is dynamically computed for an image based, at least in part, on the identified plurality of repeatable textures.
