    Abstract: Systems and methods for the improved quantitative assessment of airway mucus plug pathology are provided herein which provide a quantitative suite of mucus imaging metrics that objectively quantifies features of mucus plug pathology in the lungs. Systems and methods for generating a subject-level mucus plug map that illustrates the position of one or more whole mucus plugs, or the absence of mucus plugs in an airway tree are discussed. Systems and methods for the determination of a subject-level mucus plug phenotype are provided herein.
