  • Publication number: 20240245853
Abstract: Methods and systems for infusing a user. An infusion pump includes a housing with an elastic component configured to expand and store potential energy. The infusion pump includes a first tube fluidically coupled to an outlet of the housing. The first tube is configured to conduct the fluid from the housing at a first flow rate. The infusion pump includes an air filter fluidically coupled to a distal end of the first tube via an air filter inlet. The infusion pump includes a second tube fluidically coupled to the air filter via an air filter outlet. The second tube is configured to adjust the first flow rate of the fluid conducted from the housing to a second flow rate. The infusion pump further includes one or more components for distributing the fluid to a user, the one or more components fluidically coupled to an outlet of the second tube.

  • Publication number: 20240123212
Abstract: A system for reducing twisting of medical tubing includes a spinning component and a tubing connector. The spinning component includes a first fluid channel and a protrusion, and the tubing connector includes a second fluid channel, male mating portion, and a sheath. Accordingly, the spinning component is configured to couple to the tubing connector such that the first fluid channel and the second fluid channel together form a unified fluid channel, the first fluid channel encompasses the male mating portion, the protrusion is positioned within a recess of the sheath, and the spinning component is rotatable relative to and independently of the tubing connector.

  • Patent number: 8733736
Abstract: An apparatus for delivery of fluids to a patient includes an inlet tube and an outlet tube connected to each other at an angular joint. A rotary valve and a piston are fitted to the angular joint forming a chamber. The rotary valve is provided with a priming channel notch and a pumping notch. For priming operation with the fluid delivery apparatus, a user sets the rotary valve to a priming position. During pumping operation, the rotary valve rotates in coordination with the piston to transfer a quantum of fluid from the inlet tube to the outlet tube via the chamber. A second piston is optionally provided on the outlet tube for smoothing out flow rate pulsations.
