  • Publication number: 20160157465
Abstract: An antler shedding apparatus is provided. The antler shedding apparatus includes a base frame, a feed tray and a plurality of flexible uprights. The base frame supports the feed tray in an upright elevated position. The feed tray includes a feeding portion. Feed is retained within the feeding portion. The plurality of flexible uprights are secured to the antler shedding apparatus and surround the feeding portion. The feed attracts a deer to the antler shedding apparatus. When the deer's head enters through the flexible uprights, the antlers 68 may be removed from pedicle without harming the deer.

  • Patent number: 8210971
Abstract: A broadhead for an archery arrow is disclosed. The broadhead includes a substantially cylindrical body having a forward cutting end, a rearward attachment end, and a side wall. The forward cutting end terminates in a point and further includes a plurality of pointed faces, each of which has a concave scoop formed therein. A cutting edge is formed between each pointed face. The side wall of the body, in one embodiment, includes a plurality of longitudinal slots. The broadhead in such an embodiment further includes a plurality of blades each having a forward cutting edge and preferably a rearward cutting edge. Each edge meets at a distal point. Each blade further includes a slot engaging edge opposite the distal point, and each blade may be pivotally fixed in one slot.

  • Patent number: 7713151
Abstract: A mechanical broadhead for attachment to an arrow having a broadhead body including a plurality of blade windows formed therein, a geometrically angled retractable blade attached within each of the blade windows, retaining springs for retaining the blades in a retracted position during flight, a front body slidably mounted onto the broadhead body, and a front tip secured to the front body. Upon contact with a target, the front tip and front body slide rearwardly into an end of the geometrically angled blades, thus pushing each of the blades through the blade windows into a deployed position. The blades of the broadhead are reset by inserting a sharp point underneath an end portion of the retaining springs and applying a slight twisting motion allowing the blades to retract back into the broadhead body into a loaded position.
