    Abstract: An adapter for a fastener driving tool for controlling depth penetration of a fastener fired from the tool, comprising a lip portion adapted for attachment to a firing portion of the fastener driving tool and extending downward from the firing portion and substantially across to form a recess. The recess, in corresponding alignment with the firing portions engages the fastener when the fastener is fired from the fastener driving tool to allow for a spacing between the fastener and material.
