Publication number: 20160321659Abstract: The infrastructure that is used to process transactions may be used to create a report, thereby reducing the number of physical interactions involved to create a report. In one example, a pre-authorization for an event occurs and is sent to a real-time monitor. The real-time monitor identifies the physical location of the event, names associated with the event, and the purpose of the event. Further information about the event is then collected from a person who participates in the event. The event is then sent to a pending report monitor, which awaits notice of completion of the event from the physical infrastructure in which the event occurs. Once notice of event completion is received, the completed report of the event is submitted without further interaction with the person involved in the event.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2015Publication date: November 3, 2016Inventors: David Annesley-DeWinter, Ian Williams, Yi Lang Mok, Brett Marl

Patent number: 9407695Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for synchronizing service data between a data store and a device using the service data. These synchronization techniques may be used with a synchronization method and device that adaptively adjust synchronization parameters, such as the synchronization interval and quantity of synchronized data, on a per-end-user basis in response to actual end-user behavior. In particular, heavy users of service data are rewarded with improved synchronization parameters, such as a combination of shorter synchronization intervals and increased synchronization data quantities, which provides closer to “direct access” performance. Light users of service, on the other hand, are assigned lower cost synchronization parameters, such as longer synchronization intervals and/or decreased synchronization data quantities.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2010Date of Patent: August 2, 2016Assignee: Good Technology CorporationInventors: Gregory Scott Friedman, Coyle Brett Marl

Patent number: 9059956Abstract: A data retrieval system includes a gateway server and an access client. The gateway server is communicatively connected to the access client through a network. The gateway server provides a presentation service (PS) and a real-time service (RTS), which cooperate with the access client to retrieve data from a data store and then provide the retrieved data to a user's remote communication device. More particularly, when a user wishes to retrieve data from the data store or to send data to the data store, the user establishes a communication connection between his or her remote communication device and the gateway server, and then requests the desired data from the gateway server. In response, the gateway server sends a command to the access client, instructing it to retrieve the requested data. The access client retrieves the requested data from the data store, and returns the retrieved data to the gateway server.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2013Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: GOOD TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventors: Gregory Scott Friedman, Coyle Brett Marl

Patent number: 8671184Abstract: A tool for managing a computer network includes a gateway service module that identifies a gateway for a network and a network information service module. The network information service module identifies devices in the network, determines at least one property for each of the identified devices, and creates a network information data structure for storing device properties. A communication agent service module transmits at least one determined device property to other agent service modules associated with the network, receives at least one device property from another agent service module associated with the network, and provides the received at least one property device to the network information service module. A method of monitoring a computer network is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2011Date of Patent: March 11, 2014Assignee: Pure Networks LLCInventors: Steven M. Bush, Thomas C. Patent number: 8316438Abstract: Network management to establish and maintain the health and security of a computing network, such as a home network. A network management tool may identify the media access control (MAC) address for each device in the network, and allow a user to identify which devices are authorized to be a member of the network. If the network gateway device supports MAC address filtering, a user can then employ the network management tool to configure the router to exclude non-authorized devices from joining or remaining in the network based upon their MAC addresses. Further, the network management tool may allow a user to configure a wireless gateway device to stop broadcasting its service set identifier (SSID), change the SSID, or both, identify to the user when a wireless gateway device is using encryption, and, if so, what type of encryption.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2007Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Pure Networks LLCInventors: Steve Bush, Steve Mooney, Xin Liu, John Mevissen, Josh J Hinds, Ron Gery, Brett Marl, Matthew Tebbs

Patent number: 8014356Abstract: A machine-implementable method of optimizing the performance of a wireless network includes collecting, with a first discovery component of the wireless network, a first set of information describing at least one transmission characteristic of each access point of a first set of at least one access points within a detection area of the first discovery component. Each access point of the first set transmits data over a respective channel of a set of channels. The method further includes determining, based on the first-set information, an optimal channel of the set of channels, the optimal channel having associated therewith the lowest probability of interference with the channels over which the access points of the first set are transmitting.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2007Date of Patent: September 6, 2011Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Matthew Tebbs, Brett Marl, Steve Kelley
