Patent number: 11962140Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods to coordinate protective elements in an electric power system (EPS). In one embodiment, a system may include a Time vs Normalized Impedance Length subsystem to determine a first plurality of times of operation of a first protective element for a plurality of fault locations in the EPS and to determine a second plurality of times of operation of a second protective element for the plurality of fault locations in the EPS. A protective action subsystem may coordinate a response of the first protective element and the second protective element. The protective action subsystem may establish a pickup and a protective action for the second protective element. Upon detection of a fault in the EPS, one of the first protective action and the second protective action may be implemented based on one of the first pickup and the second pickup.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2021Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Jai Ganesh Subbarayan, Jeremy William Blair, Brett Mitchell Cockerham

Patent number: 11913271Abstract: A pivot hinge includes a spring housing with a central tube, a spring assembly, an upper mounting plate, and a lower mounting plate. The bottom end includes a knurled outer surface. A stop cam is positioned about the knurled outer surface and has an inner surface that conform to the knurled outer surface so that it may be positioned in a plurality of rotatable positions relative to the central tube. The stop cam also has an exterior surface which includes a detent. The different rotational positions of the stop cam upon the knurled outer surface changes the relative position of the detent in relationship to the central tube. A cam follower assembly is coupled to the lower mounting plate and has a cam follower plate with a cam follower that rides upon the stop cam and engages the detent recess to hold the door in an open position.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2020Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Kason Industries, Inc.Inventors: Brett Mitchell, Andrew Bassett

Publication number: 20230287713Abstract: A vehicle latch assembly for a vehicle sliding door includes an exterior latch, an interior latch, and a variety of spacers of different or differentially distinct widths. The interior latch includes a latch mounting plate or housing The latch housing has four latch mounting holes and two spacer mounting holes. Each spacer has four latch mounting holes and two spacer mounting holes which extend from a countersunk screw head recess. The exterior latch is positioned against the exterior side of the sliding door and four mounting bolts pass through four mounting holes extending through the exterior latch, through four mounting holes in the sliding door, through the four latch mounting holes in the spacer, and through the four latch mounting holes in the interior latch. A mounting nut is threaded onto each mounting bolt and tightened to secure the exterior latch and interior latch in this position.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2022Publication date: September 14, 2023Inventors: Brett Mitchell, Jeff Underwood

Patent number: 11735908Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to detect an open-phase condition associated with an inverter-based resource for electric power generation within an electric power delivery system. An electric power delivery system may include one or more inverter-based resources that provide three phased electric power to one or more loads of an electric utility. A controller may include circuitry to measure voltage unbalances between different phases, high voltage sequences, phase voltage waveform harmonic distortions, voltage levels, and current levels to dependably detect an open-phase condition of the electric power delivery system.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2022Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Brett Mitchell Cockerham, Ritwik Chowdhury, John C. Town

Publication number: 20230255403Abstract: A barbecue grill that includes a table defining a chamber to receive combustible fuel and a grill basket having a grill platform arranged facing the chamber and adapted to be moved vertically between a lowest position and a highest position and multiple positions therebetween. The grill includes an electric motor operatively connected to the grill platform to move the grill basket between its lowest and highest positions, and a plurality of temperature sensors adapted to monitor a temperature of the grill platform. A controller is arranged in communication with the plurality of temperature sensors and the electric motor and is configured to raise and lower the grill basket to maintain the grill platform at a desired temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2023Publication date: August 17, 2023Applicant: Next Level BBQ LLCInventors: Brett Mitchell, Jeremy Thomas McMillin
