Publication number: 20130289697Abstract: A sheath for deploying a medical device to a target site in the body of a patient. A tubular inner liner has a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an outer surface. An outer jacket has a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an inner surface. A reinforcing member is received within a length of the outer jacket. The outer jacket is positioned longitudinally around the inner liner and bonded to the outer surface of the liner. The reinforcing member, which may be a triaxial braid, or an encapsulated longitudinal reinforcing wire, extends along the outer jacket length and is configured for inhibiting elongation of the sheath upon deployment of the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: Cook Medical Technologies LLCInventors: Brett O. Baker, Carrie L. Fercik Grant, James C. Merk, Scott E. Boatman, David A. Drewes, Michael D. Deckard

Publication number: 20100185614Abstract: The Shared Internet Storage Resource provides Internet-based file storage, retrieval, access, control, and manipulation for a user. Additionally, an easy-to-use user interface is provided both for a browser or stand-alone application. The entire method provides means by which users can establish, use, and maintain files on the Internet in a manner remote from their local computers yet in a manner that is similar to the file manipulation used on their local computers. A high capacity or other storage system is attached to the Internet via an optional internal network that also serves to generate and direct metadata regarding the stored files. A web server using a CGI, Java®-based, or other interface transmits and retrieves TCP/IP packets or other Internet information through a load balancer/firewall by using XML to wrap the data packets. File instructions may be transmitted over the Internet to the Shared Resource System.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2008Publication date: July 22, 2010Inventors: Brett O'Brien, Sean Whiteley, Lucas McGregor, Martin Hald

Patent number: 7743532Abstract: An orthopedic walking boot promotes rapid healing of diabetic foot ulcerations by lowering the maximum peak pressure imposed upon the foot. The walker has a hard unyielding shell which is designed for walking. The shell closely and rigidly supports a mid-sole in a foot-shaped bed. The mid-sole has a foot-shaped cavity with rounded sides adapted to form resilient support for the heel, arch and sides of a foot in addition to the bottom of a foot. A conformable inner-sole is adapted to fit over the foot-shaped cavity in the mid-sole and be compressed in response to foot pressure between the sides and bottom of the foot and the sides and bottom of the foot-shaped cavity in the mid-sole thereby compensating for small differences between the shape of the foot and the shape of the cavity.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2008Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Assignee: Medical Technology, Inc.Inventors: Gary R. Bledsoe, Brett O. Bledsoe

Publication number: 20090205986Abstract: A packaging tray for a medical device having a substantially flat configuration with at least one surface thereof comprising a coating of an agent disposed thereupon and an uncoated portion extending laterally therefrom. The packaging tray comprises a container unit having top and bottom portions that define a protective chamber therebetween configured to receive the coated portion of the medical device. The container unit is further configured to include an anchoring region disposed lateral to the protective chamber and between the top and bottom portions. When the medical device is disposed within the container unit, the uncoated portion is at least partially received and secured within the anchoring region, and the coated portion is maintained within the protective chamber, such that the coating of the agent is prevented from contacting the top and bottom portions of the container unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2008Publication date: August 20, 2009Applicant: Cook IncorporatedInventors: Brett O. Baker, Brian K. Long

Patent number: 7333831Abstract: Interchangeable high band low-noise-amplifiers (LNAs) and low band low-noise-amplifiers (LNAs) and related methods are disclosed that greatly enhance the efficiency of designing handsets for different combinations of frequency bands. The input signals to particular pins on a receiver or transceiver integrated circuit (IC) are swappable such that multiple frequency bands can be input to the same input pins thereby allowing for simplified system design. Efficient programmable techniques are also disclosed for controlling a swap mode within communication ICs. These interchangeable or band swappable input paths, for example, can be utilized to allow interchangeability between high band (PCS, DCS) and low band (GSM, E-GSM) inputs for cellular communications.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2005Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: NXP B.V.Inventors: Vishnu S. Patent number: 6340935Abstract: The computerized parking facility management system manages parking operations. The contour of each vehicle that enters the parking facility is captured and quantified as part of its identification. The comparison with subsequent contour measurements at designated locations allows the parking location of the vehicle to be determined. An alternate embodiment implements the Global Positioning System to determine parking location. Variable message displays provide ongoing information to motorists of available parking spaces. The system identifies the specific vehicle parked in any parking space. The system provides computer searching to locate vehicles within the parking facility. A vehicle theft deterrence component automatically notifies the vehicle owner, the police, parking facility operators and other appropriate persons. This invention also integrates with parking revenue operations.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2000Date of Patent: January 22, 2002Inventor: Brett O. Hall

Patent number: 6223125Abstract: The Collision Avoidance System prevents collisions between vehicles and vehicular collisions with pedestrians, trains, and stationary objects by monitoring, controlling, documenting, and reporting the speed and position of vehicles. The system guards against speeding violations, moving violations, and particular safety hazards by invoking a reduction of vehicle speed or by restricting vehicle movement to control its position. This is primarily accomplished with the activation of a controllable road perturbation. The system also monitors pedestrians, school bus loading/unloading, traffic density, trains, environmental conditions that may affect driving, and traffic control systems to determine the action to take for collision prevention.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2000Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Inventor: Brett O.
