  • Publication number: 20110225608
Abstract: Presentation of a video clip is made to persons having a high probability of viewing the clip. A database containing viewers of previously offered video clips is analyzed to determine similarities of preferences among viewers. When a new video clip has been watched by one or more viewers in the database, those viewers who have watched the new clip with positive results are compared with others in the database who have not yet seen it. Prospective viewers with similar preferences are identified as high likelihood candidates to watch the new clip when presented. Bids to offer the clip are based on the degree of likelihood. For one embodiment, a data collection agent (DCA) is loaded to a player and/or to a web page to collect viewing and behavior information to determine viewer preferences. Viewer behavior may be monitored passively by different disclosed methods.

  • Patent number: 7958938
Abstract: A system for supporting multiple-well-site, offshore, hydrocarbon-bearing fields, each well-site has one or more wells. In general, the system first comprises a floating vessel that is relocatable from a first subsea well-site to a second subsea well-site. The system also comprises two separate systems: (1) an operations control system for providing subsea well-site operations such as power and communications; and (2) an intervention system for conducting intervention services to an individual subsea well such as workover services and maintenance services. The operations system may provide control to wells and other subsea equipment at either the first well-site or the second well-site, regardless of the location of the floating vessel. The intervention system may provide workover and/or maintenance to subsea equipment or individual wells at the well-site at which it is located.

  • Patent number: 7921910
Abstract: A proppant composition comprises a non-radioactive, detectable tracer at least partially embedded in a ceramic composition. The composition may be prepared by agglomerating granules of the ceramic material and granules of the non-radioactive, detectable material to produce the particle by compression. Backflow of proppants in a fractured subterranean formation into which a plurality of particles of the proppant composition have been introduced may be tracked by analyzing a sample of the backflow by detecting for presence of the tracer in the sample.

  • Publication number: 20110029666
Abstract: Various user behaviors are passively monitored and recorded when a user/viewer interacts with a network video player, e.g. a web video player, while watching an online video clip. For one embodiment, a data collection agent (DCA) is loaded to the player and/or to a web page that displays the video clip. The DCA passively collects detailed viewing and behavior information without requiring any specific input or actions on the part of the user. Indications of user preferences are inferred by user actions leading up to viewing the video, while viewing the video, and just after and still related to viewing the video. The DCA periodically sends this information to a central server where it is stored in a central database and where it is used to determine preference similarities among different users. Recorded user preference information may also be used to rate a video itself.

  • Patent number: 7828998
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for making a material having a controlled microstructure, the method including providing particles of a ceramic mineral material, the particles having a metal oxide dopant therein. The particles of the ceramic mineral material are consolidated into larger aggregates of a size relevant to the desired application using standard industrial mixing and pelletizing technology. The aggregates are heated under reducing conditions so that at least part of the dopant is reduced to form a transient, metastable liquid phase among the particles. The liquid phase includes at least part of the reduced dopant and promotes sintering of the particles and forms islands of reduced metal within the material and on the surface of the aggregates.

  • Publication number: 20100074692
Abstract: Methods and systems for receiving liquefied natural gas (LNG) and delivering vaporized natural gas to a pipeline in fluid communication with onshore equipment and methods for importing LNG. In one embodiment, an open-sea berth import terminal includes a platform, which is fixed to the sea floor and includes two or more sets of berthing structures. LNG carriers berth at the open-sea berth import terminal to transfer LNG to a storage vessel moored at one of the berthing structures. LNG vaporization facilities, either on the storage vessel or the platform, vaporize the LNG prior to delivery to the pipeline. The storage vessel may include a barge or another LNG carrier. In other embodiments, the open-sea berth import terminal may have no storage facilities, but two LNG carriers may berth at the berthing structures to concurrently perform offloading operations, with one transferring LNG and the other performing other offloading operations to enhance operations.

  • Publication number: 20090287824
Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-process browser architecture are described herein. In an embodiment, a system for providing multi-process browser architecture includes at least one rendering process for each browser instance that renders a content area; and at least one browser process that communicates with one or a plurality of rendering engine processes. In another embodiment, a method for providing a multi-process browser architecture includes instantiating a unique rendering process for each content area instance and instantiating a unique browser process. In this way browsers may avoid the effects of faulty processes affecting other browser processes. This may improve user efficiency while enhancing user experience.

  • Patent number: 7470163
Abstract: A combined riser, offloading and mooring system is provided for the offloading of hydrocarbons from a floating production vessel (FPV), onto a tanker. The system preferably includes an offloading buoy tethered to the mudline by at least one mooring line. The offloading buoy and the mooring line can be part of an offloading buoy system for supporting a production riser and fluid jumper lines. Additionally, the offloading buoy system can support an offloading jumper line from the FPV to a fluid connector on the offloading buoy system through which hydrocarbon fluid is loaded via an offloading hose onto a tanker. The combined riser, offloading and mooring system also preferably includes at least one set of FPV mooring lines for securing the floating production vessel to the offloading buoy system. The system further preferably includes a hawser line for connecting the tanker to the offloading buoy system. In this manner, the number of mooring lines for the floating production vessel may be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070059528
Abstract: Foundry media having a low surface porosity and methods for producing the media are disclosed. One method includes minimizing a moisture content of the media prior to sintering the media, which minimized moisture content minimized the surface porosity of the sintered media. The media can be coated with resin, and a mold made therefrom. The media requires less resin than conventional media because of the low porosity, and stronger molds can be made from the media.
