Abstract: Computer systems, methods, and devices for generating virtual reality content from two-dimensional images. In some embodiments, a computer-implemented method for generating virtual reality content from a two-dimensional image can comprise applying horizon correction to a two-dimensional input image for conversion, converting the image to a part-spherical and part-cylindrical projection, applying a vertical correction to the part-spherical and part-cylindrical projection, converting the vertically corrected projection to an equirectangular image, applying a mirroring process to the equirectangular image, and transmitting the same to a virtual reality device for display as virtual reality content.
