  • Publication number: 20040032124
Abstract: A hose fitting suitable for use with a reinforced hose is provided that includes a longitudinally extending body having a hose end and a coupling end. The body includes an exterior surface and an interior opening. The exterior surface of body defines a gripping surface and a reinforcement trapping surface. Fitting also includes a socket surrounding the body. The socket defines an interior surface, which cooperates with the exterior surface of the body to define a generally cylindrical opening for receiving the hose. The interior surface of the socket is positioned radially outward of the gripping surface and the reinforcement trapping surface. The hose reinforcement is trapped between the interior surface and the reinforcement trapping surface to inhibit movement of the hose reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 5520214
Abstract: A regulator and fill valve assembly for filling a fluid pressure tank and for regulating the flow of pressurized fluid from the tank includes a regulator portion having a valve body with a piston chamber. A pressure flow passageway extends from an inlet end to a first end of the piston chamber and an outlet port communicates with the piston chamber. A piston is movable in the piston chamber. A first spring at a second opposite end of the piston chamber urges the piston toward the first end of the piston chamber. A handle is provided for manually controlling the force of the first spring acting on the piston. A check valve assembly is located in the passageway and includes a seat, a valve member, a valve guide and a second spring biasing the valve member and guide towards the seat. The valve member is movable in a direction towards a closed position against the seat by fluid pressure in the passageway and the biasing force of the second spring.

  • Patent number: 4948179
Abstract: The invention pertains to a fitting consisting of a tubular body which may be readily installed over the end of a smooth wall conduit and removed therefrom and may be quickly connected to a standard unisex adapter mounted on the end of a hose line to place the conduit and hose line in fluid communication. The fitting includes a positive lock for attaching the fitting to the conduit and a flexible retainer is employed for safety purposes to resist "blow off".

  • Patent number: 4786029
Abstract: A coupling for use with pressurized systems permitting coupling of valved coupling parts even though one of the parts may be under high pressure. An axially reciprocal valve which automatically opens upon the coupling halves being connected is guided within a shell within the pressurized coupling half and a sealed relationship between the valve and shell minimizes the area of valve surfaces exposed to the pressurized medium reducing the axial forces imposed upon the valve toward the closed position. A bleed valve communicating with the valve interior permits valve operation with hydraulic systems in the event of seal leakage.
