  • Patent number: 11960092
Abstract: A light source or projector for a near-eye display includes a light source subassembly optically coupled to a waveguide concentrator. The light source subassembly may include several semiconductor chips each hosting an array of emitters such s superluminescent light-emitting diodes. The semiconductor chips may be disposed side-by-side, with their emitting sides or facets coupled to the waveguide concentrator, which provides a tight array of output light ports on a common output plane of the concentrator. The output diverging beams at the array of output light ports are coupled to a collimator, which collimates the beams and couples them to an angular scanner for scanning the collimated light beams together across the field of view of the display.

  • Patent number: 11954463
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to determining a similarity of components of a current webpage to different UI components for use in automatically generating an updated webpage. A computer system may receive information specifying a current webpage, including a particular current UI component and information specifying a plurality of different UI components for an updated webpage. The computer system may identify one or more characteristics of the particular current UI component. The computer system may determine, based on the identified one or more characteristics, a similarity of ones of the plurality of different UI components to the particular current UI component. The computer system may select, based on the determining, a particular different UI component from the plurality of different UI components for use, in the updated webpage, for the particular current UI component. Such techniques may advantageously improve user experience by automatically providing up-to-date user interfaces.

  • Patent number: 11948242
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for intelligent smoothing of 3D alternative reality applications for secondary 2D viewing. A computing device receives a first data set corresponding to a first position of an alternative reality viewing device. The computing device generates a 3D virtual environment for display on the alternative reality viewing device using the first data set, and a 2D rendering of the virtual environment for display on a display device using the first data set. The computing device receives a second data set corresponding to a second position of the alternative reality viewing device after movement of the alternative reality viewing device. The computing device determines whether a difference between the first data set and the second data set is above a threshold. The computing device updates the 2D rendering of the virtual environment on the display device using the second data set, when the difference is above the threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20230409896
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and a computing system are provided for training a matting neural network to generate mattes for creating portraits to be used on identity documents. The matting neural network is trained by using standardized images conforming to a template which prescribes that each standardized image should depict a human face. A standardized image is obtained by adjusting an input image which includes an area representing a face of the person and was, e.g., taken with a camera, so that a relationship between the size of the adjusted input image and the distance between target points (which represent parts of the person) in the adjusted input image satisfies a condition determined by the template, and in the adjusted input image the area is in a position defined by the template.
