  • Publication number: 20250174994
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for controlling grid components of an electric power grid are disclosed. Each grid component is configured to consume power from and/or provide power to the electric power grid according to a respective predefined function that takes received electric power flow characteristic values as an input. The method comprises obtaining values of a characteristic of electric power flow in the electric power grid; altering the obtained values to generate altered electric power flow characteristic values by inputting the obtained values to a mapping function that maps the predefined function onto a controller function; and transmitting the altered electric power flow characteristic values to the grid components to control the grid components to consume power from and/or provide power to the electric power grid according to the controller function. Also disclosed is a method and apparatus for providing altered electric power flow characteristic values.

  • Patent number: 11298846
Abstract: A device for loading brachytherapy seeds and spacers into a sleeve. The device holds two or more seed or spacer cartridges of different radioactive species and dosage. The user rotates a selector for selecting a desired cartridge and, with each depression of a spring-biased plunger, pushes a seed or spacer into a channel in an inspection area. The process is repeated for the desired number and order of seeds and spacers in sequence to form a strand. The strand can be seen in the channel with the unaided eye through a transparent window. Once the strand is arranged as desired, it is pushed into a sleeve that is held in a removable sleeve holder. If desired, the end portions of the filled sleeve may be cut off using a sleeve cutter to shorten the filled sleeve. The filled sleeve is implanted into patient using a needle.

  • Patent number: 11215979
Abstract: This document discloses a solution for a method of monitoring an electric power grid. According to an aspect, a method comprises: detecting one or more physical stimuli in the electric power grid; obtaining, while the one or more physical stimuli is effective, a first set of measurement data associated with a first location of the electric power grid; computing operational information such as a fault level of the first location of the electric power grid on the basis of the first set of measurement data; mapping the operational information to corresponding operational information of a second location of the electric power grid on the basis of the first set of measurement data and correlation between electrical characteristics of the first location and the second location.

  • Publication number: 20090185908
Abstract: The present invention provides a linear friction welded blisk of a gas turbine engine and method of fabricating the blisk. The blisk includes a blisk hub having a curved periphery and having a central axis formed therethrough. At least one blade joining stub including a planar weld joint surface to which at least one airfoil blade may be welded by linear friction welding is formed about the periphery of the blisk hub. The planar weld joint surface is formed in a plane parallel to the central axis of the blisk hub thereby providing for linear friction welding of the airfoil blade to the planar weld joint surface in a tangential, chordal, or axial direction. The planar weld joint surface reduces the complexity of the linear friction welding machines and tooling, and further provides for an increase in blade count and leading edge accessibility.

The page token comprises an abstract model component containing a specification for obtaining data designated to be sent in a response to the request or a specification for updating data obtained from the request, and also a view component for providing referential format specifications for data provided in the abstract model component. The page token is passed between at least two components of a modified model-view-controller architecture via a standard interface. The components include a user interface controller, a user interface builder implementing a first standard interface, an application layer implementing a second standard interface, a data access manager implementing a third standard interface, and at least one data access utility implementing a fourth standard interface.

  • Publication number: 20070289539
Abstract: Feed dispenser has opening at bottom surrounded by a seat upon which a ball check is adapted to rest, thereby to seal the opening and prevent the discharge of feed. Feed lever secured to ball check can be nudged upwardly by swine to elevate ball check to unseal opening, and can be nudged laterally by piglet to rotate ball check on the seat so that a crevice in the ball check can be brought below opening to drop feed into feed pit.

  • Patent number: 6101975
Abstract: Feed hopper for a sow has opening at bottom surrounded by a seat upon which a ball check is adapted to rest, thereby to seal the opening and prevent the discharge of feed therethrough. A sow can nudge upwardly the ball check, unsealing the opening and permitting the discharge of feed from the hopper. Vertically adjustable means limit upward movement of the ball check so as to limit the maximum extent to which the opening can be unsealed. A water button, operatively connected to a source of water, can be nudged by the sow to discharge water for her.
