  • Patent number: 11788293
Abstract: Provided is a seamless composite roofing system for a gravel built up surface. The system includes a first fluid application flood coat of bentonite emulsion applied over a gravel built up surface at a rate of 15 gallons per 100 square feet and a second fluid application flood coat of bentonite emulsion applied at a rate of 10 gallons per 100 square feet. The second flood coat includes approximately 3 to 6 pounds of chopped reinforced fiberglass per 100 square feet, and is applied over the first flood coat after the first flood coat cures. A fiberglass reinforcement layer with approximately 3 to 6 pounds chopped reinforced fiberglass per 100 square feet is applied over an area surrounding any roof top penetrations, followed by an elastic trowel grade mastic layer. An asphalt primer is then applied over the second flood coat, followed by a reflective Energy Star Rated top coat.
