  • Publication number: 20040004067
Abstract: A combination cigarette lighter and a casing in which the cigarette lighter is carried to be attached to the existing framework of a motorcycle without requiring any structural changes thereto. The casing is located on the motorcycle within easy reach so that riders may conveniently light their cigarettes while on the go away from home. An end cap is pivotally connected to the casing and rotated between a closed configuration at which to cover the cigarette lighter and an open configuration at which the cigarette lighter is removed from or returned to the casing. A ball and detent locking feature is provided by which to retain the end cap in either of the closed or open configurations relative to the casing so as to prevent the end cap from flapping back and forth and possibly disturbing the operator of the motorcycle.

  • Publication number: 20030173386
Abstract: A helmet rack to be affixed to the rear of a motorcycle to enable the operator and/or a passenger to be able to quickly and easily lock his riding helmet to the motorcycle when the motorcycle is at rest so as to avoid the inconvenience of having to carry the helmet from place-to-place with the risk that it might become lost or stolen. The helmet rack includes a pair of upright brace members connected to respective side brackets that usually support the passenger backrest above the rear fender of the motorcycle. With a helmet surrounding one of the pair of upright brace members, a rotatable closure bar is locked in a closed position so as to extend across the top ends of the pair of brace members to prevent a rotation of the closure bar and a removal of the rider's helmet from the helmet rack.

  • Patent number: 6592242
Abstract: A pair of auxiliary lights to be conveniently and unobtrusively carried at the opposite sides of a motorcycle in order to cooperate with the standard front headlamp and thereby advantageously provide the operator with a wide field of view including both frontal and lateral illumination so as to be better able to see approaching objects and landmarks and have sufficient time to react thereto. Each auxiliary light includes a housing, a light bulb enclosed by the housing and a foot peg bracket detachably connected to one side of the housing at which to receive a corresponding one of the left or right foot pegs of the motorcycle. A shifter mount bracket is detachably connected to the opposite side of the housing of one of the pair of auxiliary lights, and the gear shift pedal of the motorcycle is coupled to the shifter mount bracket of the one of the pair of auxiliary lights.
