Patent number: 11962617Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for cross-channel network security with tiered adaptive mitigation operations. In this regard, the invention is structured for dynamic detection of security events associated with network devices and resources, and triggering real-time mitigation operations across a plurality of resource channels. The invention provides a novel method for employing activity data to construct and implement mitigation actions for de-escalating authorization tiers that are adapted to the specific attributes of the activity data, in order to prevent security exposure associated with the activity. Another aspect of the invention is directed to determining whether to continue the tiered adaptive mitigation actions and/or trigger a security proceed signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2021Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATIONInventors: Michael Joseph Carroll, Jeffrey Brian Bashore, Joel Filliben, Andrew DongHo Kim, Akhilendra Reddy Kotha, Pavan Kumar Reddy Kotlo, Ronnie Joe Morris, Jr., Dharmender Kumar Satija, Michael Shih, Scott Anderson Sims, Craig D. Patent number: 11202225Abstract: Performance of a communications device with a processor, a memory, and a SIM in a wireless communication network is tested to provide a range of QoS KPIs. A test server sends a payload to the device modem, the size of which has been computed to avoid adversely affecting real time performance. The modem uses the payload to fill a buffer of restricted size in the memory, the buffer being smaller than the payload. The modem processor signals the SIM to indicate that data is available in the buffer, and the SIM instructs the processor to purge the buffer. There are repeated cycles until all of the payload has been written to the buffer and purged. The buffer signals the test server to indicate that all of the payload has been written to the buffer and purged, and the server determines a time duration from initial download of the payload to final purging as a downlink performance indicator.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2019Date of Patent: December 14, 2021Assignee: Endeavour Technology LimitedInventors: Brian Carroll, Steven Myles

Publication number: 20210098137Abstract: Increasingly, multiple users and multiple network devices are connecting to or requesting access to and/or from network resources. Users are increasingly expanding the number of network devices connected to a network. For example, a Home Network Environment (HNE) can have multiple networked devices connected to a single network. Each network device has its own interface and each network device is controlled via this interface which is generally located at the network device. A smart media device (SMD) can provide a centralized control for the multiple network devices and access to and/or from the multiple network resources. The SMD can provide control of one or more Internet of Things devices communicatively coupled to the SMD.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2020Publication date: April 1, 2021Inventors: Brian CARROLL, Richard MOORE, JR., Mallika SUBRAMANYAM, Joseph PETRY

Patent number: 9709668Abstract: A reconfigurable photonic integrated circuit focal plane array (RPIC-FPA) includes detectors and photonic integrated circuit coupled to the detectors that are configured to mix a return signal beam with local oscillator (LO) beams to produce a combined beam and direct the combined beam to the detectors. The LO beams have reconfigurable optical properties enabled by the RTIC-FPA. The LO beams are individually addressed to switch the detectors between a direct detection mode and various coherent detection modes based on adjustments to the optical properties of the LO beams. In the coherent detection mode, the controller is configured to mix the return signal beam with the LO beam having adjusted optical properties to produce the combined beam, and, in the direct detection mode, the controller is configured to disable the LO beams based on adjustments to the optical properties and to direct the return signal beam to the detectors without mixing.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2016Date of Patent: July 18, 2017Assignee: Lockheed Martin Coherent Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Piotr Konrad Kondratko, Philip Gatt, John Glennon, Brian Carroll Redman, Paul J. Patent number: 9587184Abstract: Methods are provided for producing a plurality of lubricant base oil products with an increased overall yield. Prior to the final hydrocracking stage for viscosity index uplift, a feed for making a lubricant base oil is fractionated in order to form at least a feed for making a lighter lubricant base oil and a feed for making a heavier lubricant base oil. The fractionation cut points are selected to so that the feed fraction for forming a light lubricant base oil has a higher Noack volatility and a lower viscosity than the desired targets for the lighter lubricant base oil. The feed fractions are then hydroprocessed separately to achieve desired properties. After hydroprocessing, a portion of the heavier base oil is blended into the light lubricant base oil to produce a blended base oil product. This returns the volatility and the viscosity of the blended base oil to the desired specifications.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2011Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: EXXONMOBIL RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING COMPANYInventors: Eric D. Patent number: 9394494Abstract: Methods are provided for producing multiple lubricating oil basestocks from a feedstock. Prior to dewaxing, various fractions of the feedstock are exposed to hydrocracking conditions of different severity to produce a higher overall yield of basestocks. The hydrocracking conditions of different severity can represent exposing fractions of a feedstock to different processing conditions, exposing fractions of a feedstock to different amounts of hydrocracking catalyst, or a combination thereof.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2012Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: EXXONMOBIL RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING COMPANYInventors: Eric D. Patent number: 9212325Abstract: Conditions selected for lubricant base oil production can be used to also produce a high quality diesel product. The diesel product can have a cetane index or cetane number of at least 55, corresponding to a high value diesel fuel. The diesel product can also have good cold flow properties, such as a pour point of ?40° C. or less and/or a cloud point of ?25° C. or less. Additionally, the sulfur content of the diesel product can be low, such as less than 1 wppm. This can allow the diesel product to be blended with other potential diesel boiling range products that have a higher sulfur content while still meeting an overall diesel fuel specification. The aromatics content can also be low, allowing the premium diesel to comply with various regulatory requirements.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2012Date of Patent: December 15, 2015Assignee: EXXONMOBIL RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING COMPANYInventors: Eric D. Patent number: 8524069Abstract: The invention below shows a preferred method to make high quality base oil at unexpectedly high yields using a combination of hydrotreatment of high waxy feedstocks accompanied by hydroisomerization of the resulting wax to produce an extra high VI lube of greater than 140VI and at least ?18 deg C. pour point or less. The preferred combinations of conditions identified below can surprisingly lead to unexpectedly high yields. This allows the use of higher oil content (or lower wax content) feedstocks.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2009Date of Patent: September 3, 2013Assignee: ExxonMobil Research and Engineering CompanyInventors: Eric D. Patent number: 8356696Abstract: A system and method for lubricating components where the lubricant is applied in mist form within a substantially enclosed cavity. The cavity contains a draining aperture which collects excess lubricant for subsequent re-use by the system. The cavity is defined by a spray head that includes a base having attached thereto a cover plate with an opening adapted to receive therethrough a component to be lubricated. The cavity and lubrication chamber prevents the escape of excess lubricant. The collection and reuse of excess lubricant provides a closed loop system that reduces lubricant waste.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2009Date of Patent: January 22, 2013Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Brian Carroll, Michael Neu, Chris Petty, Dudley Headley, David McCoy, Stephen Smith
